Doppelherz stomach gel against heartburn,reflux Indications: Treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease to reduce its associated symptoms such as heartburn, heartburn during pregnancy, reflux osoephagitis, acid regurgitation, indigestion, cough and larynx-pharyngitis. 

Mechanism Doppelherz stomach gel against heartburn,reflux of action: The product is based on sodium alginate and carbonates and a physical mechanism of action. Once in contact with the acidic pH conditions in the stomach, sodium alginate (a natural polymer derived from brown algae) forms a gel. At the same time, the carbonates release carbon dioxide, which allows the gel to float and form a protective layer that acts as a physical barrier to prevent gastric juice from flowing back up the esophagus. Sodium bicarbonate also ensures that stomach acid is reduced.
