Dulcolax® NP drops
Constipation and difficulty going to the toilet are not uncommon. Around 15 percent of Germans are affected by constipation at least once a year*. If things are not progressing in the intestines, this can have various causes: stress, changes in your daily routine or diet, to name just a few. But the hormonal system also plays an important role in digestion. Menstruation, pregnancy, breastfeeding and menopause can affect bowel movements. Therefore, women are usually slightly more affected than men.

Constipation is not only uncomfortable, but sometimes really painful. Difficult bowel movements, a bloated stomach – this not only restricts you physically, but can also be emotionally stressful. Dulcolax® NP drops are particularly recommended if you prefer a liquid format or if your symptoms vary. Because the drops can be dosed individually within the recommended dosage - depending on how severe your symptoms are.

Dulcolax® NP drops work in two ways: on the one hand, they promote the intestinal movement and on the other hand, they ensure that the stool has a softer consistency. The relief can be easily planned because the drops work overnight. If they are taken in the evening, it takes around 10 to 12 hours for the effect to take effect - i.e. the next morning. In addition, Dulcolax® NP drops are well tolerated.

Dulcolax® NP drops offer predictable relief from constipation and illnesses that require easier bowel movements. After consulting your doctor, the drops can also be used long-term. They are well tolerated and also suitable for children aged 4 and over. Since the medication and its breakdown products do not pass into breast milk, it can also be used during breastfeeding. However, this should only be done in consultation with the doctor or pharmacist.

The drops can be taken with or without liquid. Adults take 10 to 18 drops, children aged 4 and over take 5 to 9 drops. It is recommended to start with the lowest dosage and increase it if necessary.

Interesting to know: Regular bowel movements does not mean that you have to go to the toilet every day. A frequency of three times a day to three times a week is considered normal. If you have any questions about this, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
