  • Acetylsalicylic acid, which is the active substance in Etopirin Pro, is an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug. Preparation for use in adults and adolescents over 16 years of age.

Etopirine Pro composition:

Active substance: acetylsalicylic acid. One gastro-resistant tablet contains 500mg acetylsalicylic acid and other ingredients: corn starch; modified corn starch; hypromellose; methacrylic acid copolymer; talc; titanium dioxide (E 171); triethyl citrate; cochineal red, lake (E 124); colloidal anhydrous silica; sodium bicarbonate; sodium laurilsulfate.

Etopirine Pro action:

Etopirin Pro is a medicine indicated for pain, cold and flu fever. Your doctor may also recommend a preparation for use in rheumatoid arthritis. The acetylsalicylic acid contained in the drug has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. The preparation is in the form of gastro-resistant tablets, they disintegrate only after reaching the small intestine, thus reducing the irritating effect of acetylsalicylic acid on gastric mucosa.

Application:

The medicinal product Etopirin Pro indicated for use in the treatment of pain of various etiologies (light and medium severity) - toothache, headache, joint and muscle pain; ailments associated with colds and flu with fever; (only on the recommendation of a doctor) medical conditions that require long-term intake of high-dose acetylsalicylic acid (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis)

Additional information:
The product should be stored out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. The possibility of using the drug in women during pregnancy (I and II trimester) discuss with the doctor, the use of the drug is not recommended unless absolutely necessary. You should not drink alcohol when using a medicine with acetylsalicylic acid, as there is an increased risk of damage to the gastrointestinal mucosa. This medicine contains cochineal red and lake (E 124), these ingredients may cause allergic reactions.

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (allergy with symptoms such as bronchospasm, rhinitis, shock). Do not use in the case of bronchial asthma, chronic respiratory disease, hay fever or swelling of the nasal mucosa, in such cases the reaction to NSAIDs may be an asthma attack, limited swelling of the skin and mucosa (angioedema) or urticaria. Do not use in the case of active gastric and / or duodenal ulcer, inflammation or gastrointestinal bleeding. Do not use in cases of severe liver, kidney or heart failure. Do not use in case of blood coagulation disorders or anticoagulants. Do not use in the case of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. Do not use concomitantly with methotrexate at a dose of 15mg per week (or more). Do not use in adolescents and children under 16 years of age. Do not use during the third trimester of pregnancy and during breast-feeding.

Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking this medicine. Blood and lymphatic system disorders: decrease in platelets, anemia due to gastrointestinal micro-bleeding, hemolytic anemia in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, reduction in white blood cells, neutrophils, eosinophils, increased bleeding risk, prolonged bleeding time, prolonged bleeding blood coagulation time, iron deficiency anemia with laboratory and clinical symptoms, hemolysis; Immune system disorders: hypersensitivity, hypersensitivity to drugs, bronchospasm, allergic and angioedema edema, anaphylactic reactions, anaphylactic shock with appropriate laboratory tests and clinical symptoms; nervous system disorders: tinnitus (usually as a sign of overdose), hearing impairment, dizziness, cerebral and intracranial bleeding. Long-term use of medicines with acetylsalicylic acid may cause headache, which may increase with subsequent doses. Cardiac disorders: heart failure; vascular disorders: hypertension, bleeding, surgical bleeding, hematomas, muscle bleeding; respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders - epistaxis, analgesic asthma, rhinitis, nasal congestion; stomach and intestinal disorders - indigestion, heartburn, epigastric fullness, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, gastric mucosa damage, ulcer disease, perforation, bleeding gums, gastrointestinal inflammation. Gastric ulceration occurs in 15% of patients on long-term intake of acetylsalicylic acid. Hepatobiliary disorders - focal hepatocellular necrosis, tenderness and enlargement of the liver, especially in patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatic fever or liver disease, transient increases in serum transaminases, alkaline phosphatase and bilirubin. Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders - rash, urticaria, pruritus; renal and urinary disorders - presence of protein in the urine, presence of leukocytes and erythrocytes in the urine, renal papillary necrosis, interstitial nephritis, urinary tract bleeding, renal dysfunction, acute renal failure. Gastric ulceration occurs in 15% of patients on long-term intake of acetylsalicylic acid. Dosage of Etopiryna Pro tablets:

Use as directed by your doctor or as directed on the leaflet. Swallow the tablet whole, drink plenty of water, take it during or after a meal. Treatment of pain or fever: adults - a single dose of 1-2 tablets, the dose can be repeated 2-3 times a day. The maximum daily dose of 6 tablets (3000mg acetylsalicylic acid); adolescents over 16 years of age - use only on the recommendation of a doctor, 1-2 tablets a day. The lowest effective dose is recommended. Do not use for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor. Use of the drug in rheumatic diseases - only on the recommendation of a doctor, usually rheumatic fever is used 2 tablets 4 times a day, in rheumatoid arthritis usually 1 tablet 3-4 times a day.
