Exufiber - Gel-forming fiber dressing with Hydrolock technology with advanced lock-in properties to retain fluid for moderate to heavily exuding wounds and cavities.
Unlike conventional gel-forming fibers, Exufiber is a nonwoven PVA dressing. It transforms into a gel upon contact with exudate, gently conforming to the wound bed. Exufiber can be used to treat a wide range of moderate to heavily exuding wounds, including cavities. Exufiber dressings with Hydrolock technology are able to efficiently transport exudate from the wound bed to the secondary dressing, locking in exudate to prevent leakage and reduce the risk of maceration. Thanks to Hydrolock technology, Exufiber remains intact even when wet, without the need for further reinforcement, allowing it to be easily removed in one piece during dressing changes. Exufiber dressings support a clean wound bed upon dressing removal through their superior* lock-in capacity, their ability to remain intact and leave no residue in the wound bed, and by promoting autolytic debridement. You can use Exufiber in combination with Mepilex Border Flex, a unique combination of Flex technology and Safetac.

Uses of Exufiber:
Exufiber can be used on many types of exuding wounds, e.g. leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, second degree burns, surgical wounds, donor sites and malignant wounds.
How Exufiber works:
The mechanically attached fibers are made of a strong synthetic material that gels when in contact with fluid, securely locking it in. This allows Exufiber to achieve higher fluid retention rates than many other dressings on the market.
The story behind Hydrolock technology:
The densely packed fibers of Hydrolock technology minimize free space, so exudate is less free flowing and is retained within the dressing. This gives Exufiber its unique ###lock-in### properties and high dressing integrity. The densely packed fibers retain bacteria-containing exudate to prevent the bacteria from re-entering the wound bed. Thanks to its secure retention of exudate, even under pressure, Exufiber provides the confidence to leave the dressing in place** to ensure an undisturbed healing process.
