HAMASANA® Hamamelis Ointment is used for skin care for cracked, brittle and dry skin, for skin redness and soreness. The ointment should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas 2 - 3 times a day until the skin becomes supple again. Do not use on open wounds.

HAMASANA Witch hazel ointment

For cracked, brittle and dry skin

Hamasana Hamamelis Ointment contains the natural ingredients from the bark and leaves of the Virginian witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana). From experience, the Indians of North America used the fresh leaves and twigs to treat burns, boils and injuries. Since the middle of the 19th century, witch hazel extracts have been used medicinally in North America and later also in Europe.

Today, other active ingredients are also used in medicine for these diseases. What remains, however, is that Hamamelis virginiana is very suitable for skin care, especially for cracked, brittle and dry skin. Witch hazel prevents the skin from drying out, which becomes increasingly drier both due to age and often due to insufficient water intake. Foreign substances such as medicines also disrupt the balance. Unfortunately, even when exposed to strong sunlight, the skin not only becomes “somewhat tanned” as desired, but also usually becomes red and downright burned in some areas.

With Hamasana Hamamelis Ointment, dry, damaged skin regains its natural balance with a balanced water content, as the fat content in the ointment prevents water loss and can thus store moisture again in the dry skin cells. This makes the skin supple and the witch hazel extract soothes irritated skin, even in sore spots.

Composition: 100 g of ointment contains 20 g of distilled ethanolic extract of witch hazel leaves and bark (4:1).
Other ingredients: petroleum jelly, wool wax, wool wax alcohol ointment, thick paraffin, water.
