Ivy leaf dry extract Herbion Ivy is a herbal medicine to dissolve mucus in coughs with sputum.

Herbion ivy contains sorbitol and ethanol (alcohol).

Please take Herbion ivy only after consulting your doctor if you know that you are intolerant to certain sugars.
This medicine contains a small amount of alcohol (less than 100 mg in a single dose).

For dissolving mucus in coughing with sputum.

What is Herbion ivy and what is it used for?
Herbion ivy contains ivy leaf dry extract. Herbion ivy is a herbal medicine used to dissolve mucus in coughs with sputum.

How to take Herbion ivy
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package insert or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The usual dose for adolescents 12 years and older, adults and the elderly is 5-7.5 ml of syrup twice a day.

Use in children HERBION ivy leaf syrup:

  • The usual dose for children 6 to 11 years old is 5 ml of syrup twice a day.
  • The usual dose for children 2 to 5 years old is 2.5 ml of syrup twice a day.
  • Use in children under 2 years of age is contraindicated.


Take the syrup in the morning and early afternoon. You can take it with or without meals. You should drink plenty of water or other warm decaf drinks while you are taking Herbion Ivy.

Shake the bottle well before use. If symptoms persist for more than a week while using this medicine, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.

If you have used more Herbion Ivy than you should,
do not take higher doses than recommended. Taking higher doses than recommended (more than double the daily dose) can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and restlessness. Treatment is symptomatic.

If you forget to take Herbion ivy
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

What Herbion ivy contains
The active substance is ivy leaf dry extract. 1 ml of syrup contains 7 mg of dry extract of ivy leaves (Hedera helix L., folium) (5-7.5): 1. Extraction agent: ethanol 30% (m / m).

The other ingredients HERBION ivy leaf syrup are:

Sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallizing) (Ph. Eur.), Glycerol, sodium benzoate, citric acid monohydrate, lemon balm aroma (ethanol), purified water.

Other component still contained in traces in the extract: Simeticon.
