HEXORALETTEN N Contents:
1 tab. contains: 5mg. chlorhexidine hydrochloride and 1.5 mg. benzocaine
The other ingredients are: peppermint oil, menthol, timolol, aspartame, isomalt, purified water.
HEXORALETTEN N Application:
Hexoralet H are lozenges intended for topical application in order to reduce (reduce) the number of microorganisms in the throat and oral cavity in sore throat, stomatitis (inflammation of the oral cavity), gingivitis (inflammation of the gums).
Do not take HEXORALETEN N
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to chlorhexidine or benzocaine or to any of the
- the other ingredients of Hexoraleten N.
- if you have sores and sores on your mouth and throat
- if you have low levels of plasma cholinesterase
- not to be given to children under 4 years
Pay special attention to the use of HEXORALETEN N
- if you are diabetic - does not contain sugar, contains the sweetener aspartame
- when taking drugs from the groups of sulfonamides or aminosalicylates if you have damage to the mucous membranes of the mouth (sores, scars)
Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines that contain sulfonamides or aminosalicylates. Benzocaine reduces the effect of these drugs.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Driving and using machines
Hexoralate H does not affect your ability to drive or use machines.
HEXORALETTEN N Dosage:
Adults and children over 12 years:
1 lozenge several times a day. If necessary, one tablet can be sucked every
1-2 hours up to a maximum dose of 8 lozenges per day.
Children (4 -12 years):
Up to 4 lozenges per day.
Children under 4 years of age:
Not to be used in this age group. The lozenges are kept in the mouth until they dissolve.
Note for diabetics: The carbohydrate content of one lozenge corresponds to 0.1 bread unit.
Treatment should begin as soon as possible after the first symptoms appear and continue for several days as a preventive measure after the complaints have subsided.
HEXORALETTEN N Possible side effects:
Like all medicines, Hexoralate H can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
With prolonged use, a transient change in taste and a feeling of stiffness of the tongue may occur.
Prolonged use of drugs containing chlorhexidine can lead to tooth discoloration, which can be cleaned with toothpaste; reversible coloring of the tongue is also possible. Benzocaine may cause hypersensitivity reactions, in rare cases to anaphylactic shock.
Changes in hemoglobin (methaemoglobinaemia) have been observed in benzocaine in young children.
HEXORALETTEN N Storage:
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use Hexoralet H after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
