Quick help for small runny noses
Small children suffer particularly frequently from colds. The child's immune system is not yet as mature as that of adults and therefore offers less protection against cold viruses. In addition, the risk of infection in crèches and kindergartens is particularly high. So that little runny noses can breathe deeply again quickly, we recommend using a decongestant nasal spray. hysan® cold spray children was specially developed for children between the ages of 2 and 6 years. With xylometazoline, the drug contains an active ingredient in an age-appropriate concentration that has proven itself many times over to reduce swelling in the inflamed nasal mucosa. Just a few minutes after application, the viscous mucus can drain away and the little nose can breathe freely again.

Particularly well tolerated
In order to reliably rid the nose of viscous secretion, decongestant nasal sprays with the active ingredient xylometazoline, such as the hysan® nasal spray for children, have proven their worth. The drug acts specifically on the nasal mucosa and ensures that the blood vessels contract. This allows the stuck mucus to drain off and the nose to breathe freely again. Like all hysan® preparations, the cold spray for children is free of preservatives and is therefore particularly well tolerated.

RECOMMENDATIONS HYSAN cold spray children, nasal spray FOR USE:

hysan ® Schnupfenspray Kinder is intended for use in the nose. The drug is suitable for children from 2 to 6 years, it should not be used for more than 7 days.

1. Take off the protective cap before use.
2. Operate the pump until the solution comes out (usually 1 to 2 times). The system is now ready for any further application.
3. Insert the nozzle into the nostril and pump once. Breathe in lightly. Repeat the process on the other nostril.
4. After use, always wipe the nasal adapter with a clean handkerchief to reduce the risk of infection in the next use. Then close with a protective cap.

BLOCKED NOSE WITH A COLD
Up to school age, small children are affected up to 12 times a year by acute inflammation of the nasal mucosa, also known as rhinitis. A blocked nose is very uncomfortable for the little ones, especially at night, when they only breathe through their mouths, causing the lips and throat to dry out. Special nasal sprays such as hysan® children's cold spray are suitable for making small patients' colds more bearable. The medicine can be used both for short-term therapy for colds and allergic rhinitis.

FOR INFLAMMATION OF THE PARASUS & MIDDLE EAR
Swollen mucous membranes can block access to the paranasal sinuses. If secretion accumulates there as a result of inflammation, it cannot drain away. This can lead to headaches and an uncomfortable feeling of pressure. In addition, swollen mucous membranes can also impede ventilation of the middle ear and thus promote a painful middle ear infection. hysan® cold spray for children facilitates the drainage of secretions in the case of sinusitis and middle ear infections in connection with a cold.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

How often and for how long should the hysan® cold spray be given to children?
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, in children between the ages of 2 and 6 years, 1 spray of hysan® Schnupfenspray Kinder is injected into each nostril up to three times a day. The medicine should be given to the child by an adult. For the duration of use in children, please always consult a doctor. Do not use the nasal spray for more than 7 days without medical advice. It should only be used again after a break of several days. Long-term use of decongestant nasal sprays can lead to chronic swelling and atrophy of the nasal mucosa. For reasons of hygiene and to avoid the transmission of pathogenic germs, a bottle of hysan® cold spray for children should always be used by the same person.

How long can the hysan® cold spray for children be kept after opening?
The medicinal product can be kept for 6 months after opening. Please do not store hysan® Schnupfenspray Kinder above 25°C in order not to affect the shelf life of the active ingredient and always keep medicines out of the reach of children.

My child often catches colds. Which measures are suitable for prevention?
It is not uncommon for children to suffer from a cold and runny nose 10 to 12 times a year – even in the warmer months. The body's own immune defense against pathogens is not yet fully developed in children, and the number of respiratory diseases decreases with age.
These measures can help to strengthen the immune system:

1. Children should exercise in the fresh air every day. If the weather is nice, as long as possible, but at least half an hour every day. In bad weather, you should not stay outside for more than an hour, in frosty temperatures below minus 10°C a maximum of 30 minutes.
2. A healthy diet is important for the immune system. The menu includes lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and whole grain products. Regular mealtimes and a relaxed atmosphere at the table promote the immune system and healthy eating habits.
3. Make sure your child gets enough sleep. Children between the ages of 1 and 3 need around 11 to 12 hours of sleep, and between the ages of 4 and 6 they need 10 to 11 hours.
4. Relaxation breaks with quiet music, cuddling or reading can serve to relax during the day.
5. Viruses and bacteria can survive on the skin for several hours. To protect against colds, frequent hand washing is therefore advisable - even after every time you blow your nose.
6. Ensure a smoke-free environment: Children from smoking households are sick more often than children growing up in non-smoking households.

Should I take my child to the doctor with a cold?
In children who are otherwise healthy, a cold is usually harmless and the symptoms go away on their own after about a week. For relief, suitable medication and home remedies are recommended for children. However, if you are unsure or notice one of the following symptoms, please see your pediatrician immediately or contact the medical on-call service:

1. Severe exhaustion
2. Unusual change in behavior
3. The child is unresponsive or will not let itself be wake
up 4. It deters touch and whimpers
5. High fever that cannot be reduced with conventional means
6. Changes in the skin

In these cases, another illness could be behind the cold, the cause of which should be clarified by a doctor as soon as possible.
