10% Ichtiol (ichthyol) ointment is a topical medicinal product for the skin. Indications for applying ointments with ichthyol are, among others purulent inflammation of the skin and ulcers. The drug has anti-inflammatory, bacteriostatic and facilitates the discharge of pus.

Composition 10% Ichtiol (ichthyol) ointment:

Active substance: Ichtamol (Ichthammolum). 1g ointment contains 100mg of ichtamol and other ingredients: lanolin and yellow petrolatum.

Action 10% Ichtiol (ichthyol) ointment:

Ichtamol is the active substance used in the medicinal product Ichthyol ointment 10%. The drug has anti-inflammatory, astringent and antibacterial effects with a weak effect. It is used in the case of eczema, acne and wipes as a bacteriostatic agent that facilitates the process of oil drainage.

Application:
10% ichthyol ointment medicinal product indicated for eczema, purulent skin inflammations, ulcers, boils, secondary infected acne and contusions.

Additional information:
The product should be stored out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. The ointment has a dark color, it can dirty clothes. The possibility of using the drug in children and adolescents, as well as during pregnancy and breast-feeding should be discussed with the doctor. The ointment contains lanolin - a local skin reaction may occur (e.g. contact dermatitis).

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the ointment. Do not use on open wounds and on severely damaged skin.

Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects when taking this medicine. If local skin irritation occurs, the ointment should be discontinued.

Dosage of 10% Ichtiol (ichthyol) ointment:

Use as directed by your doctor or as directed on the leaflet. Apply topically to intact skin. Spread a thin layer of the ointment in the affected area, apply 1-2 times a day. Wash your hands before and after applying the medicine.
