Indication :
  • The medicine contains the active ingredient carbaldrate.
  • It is a gastrointestinal agent and belongs to the antacids (agents that bind stomach acid).
  • field of use
    • The preparation is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of heartburn, acid-related stomach complaints and stomach and duodenal ulcers.
Dosage :
  • Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
  • The recommended dose is
    • Teenagers aged 12 and over and adults
      • Take 1 to 2 tablets (300 to 600 mg carbaldrate) between meals, before bedtime, or as symptoms require. Do not take more than 8 tablets (2400 mg carbaldrate) per day (within 24 hours) and do not take more than 2 tablets (600 mg carbaldrate) per single dose.
      • Preferably, you should take (suck) the medicine 1 to 2 hours after meals and at night.
  • One tablet contains 0.636 g of sucrose. If the dosage instructions are followed, up to 1.272 g of sucrose is administered with each application.
  • Children
    • In children, the absorption of aluminium from the gastrointestinal tract is higher than in adults. The medicine should not be used to treat children under 12 years of age, as there is insufficient experience in this age group.
  • If the symptoms do not subside during treatment, you should consult your doctor after 2 weeks at the latest to clarify the possible causes.
  • Other medicines should generally be taken two hours before or after taking this preparation. Taking antacids is not recommended during treatment with antibiotics such as tetracyclines and quinolones.
  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.

 

  • Duration of application
    • Take the medication until you feel the desired relief from your symptoms.

 

  • If you take more than you should, contact your doctor immediately.
