Laricifomes officinalis, also known as Agarikon, is a medicinal mushroom that has been used for centuries to treat a variety of diseases. Its medicinal uses include: 
 
Antiviral: Extracts from L. officinalis have shown antiviral activity against a range of viruses, including smallpox, H5N1 influenza, hepatitis C virus, HSV-1, HSV-2, and influenza A and B. 
 
Anti-tuberculosis: L. officinalis has shown significant inhibition against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. 
 
Immune system: L. officinalis can boost the immune system. 
 
Dysmenorrhea and hemorrhoids: L. officinalis can treat dysmenorrhea and hemorrhoids. 
 
Cough: L. officinalis can treat cough. 
 
Rheumatoid arthritis: L. officinalis can treat rheumatoid arthritis. 
 
Anticoagulant activity: L. officinalis has anticoagulant activity. 
 
Diuretic and emmenagogue effects: L. officinalis has diuretic and emmenagogue effects.

It has been used since the ancient times to treat sciatica, weakness of muscles, bronchitis, constipation, stomach and uterus pain, jaundice, fever and insect bites. It also has diuretic and emmenagogue effects. In recent decades, several research studies have been performed on L. officinalis.

Medicinal use

L. officinalis was used by the Ancient Greeks to treat consumption (tuberculosis) according to the writings of Pedanius Dioscorides in 65 AD, and by some indigenous people to treat smallpox.

Composition: 1 ampoule of 1 ml liquid dilution contains: Active ingredient: 1 ml Laricifomes offi cinalis e volumine mycelii (lyophil., sterile.) Dil. D5 aquos. (HAB, regulation 5b). Other ingredients: sodium chloride.

Experience has shown that this is used for: Registered homeopathic medicine, therefore no therapeutic indication is given.

Application: Adults and adolescents from 12 years of age inject 1.0 ml sc twice weekly. Larifikehl® D5 should be discontinued after a maximum of 4 weeks of treatment.

Side effects: Due to the content of specific organic components in Larifikehl® D5, hypersensitivity reactions, mainly in the form of skin reactions, can occur in rare cases and an allergy to the component Laricifomes officinalis can be triggered. The medicine should then be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted.

Contraindications: Do not use in:

  • Known hypersensitivity to Laricifomes officinalis
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Children under 12 years
  • Pregnant and breastfeeding women

Interactions: Immunosuppressive drugs can impair the effectiveness of Larifikehl® D5. An interval of 4 weeks must be observed before and after treatment with orally administered live vaccines.
