Mosses are true survivors: in the course of their evolution, they have developed certain ingredients that protect them from fungi, bacteria and predators.

This effect of the mosses was already known to primitive peoples, such as the North American Indians and the New Zealand Maoris. They used mosses to heal wounds and treat venereal diseases. Mosses were also used in Chinese folk medicine.

Liverwort extract, liverwort extract for sale, fungi, bacteria and predators:

Liverwort extract is a natural product that is quickly biodegradable. Unlike fungicides like copper broth, no residue is left in the soil. In addition, the liverwort extract can be used against various pathogens, while most chemical antifungal agents only work against one specific one.

Liverwort extract helps with plant diseases such as powdery mildew and downy mildew on fruit, vegetables and ornamental plants; against gray mold on strawberries, vines, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes and flowers; for rust diseases on roses, fruit trees and ornamental plants; against blackspot on roses and scab on apple and pear trees; against leaf curl on peach trees and against white spot and red spot on strawberries.

In addition, fungal diseases and bacteriosis of all kinds can be treated. The liverwort extract prevents fungal spores or bacteria from multiplying further. Salad snails are also displaced by the liverwort extract. In the home, liverwort extract can be used as a cosmetic raw material, for animal care and as an additive in detergents, paints and binding agents.

For the production of liverwort extract, the plant material is taken from nature without endangering the stock. The active ingredients of the liverwort extract are dissolved in 70% alcohol. The Institute for Microbiology at the University of Bonn is constantly testing the mode of action of the extract.

Alcohol denat, liverwort extract

Plants: Liverwort is dissolved in water at a ratio of 1:200 (0.5%) to strengthen plants against fungal attack. 100 ml liverwort extract is sufficient for 20 liters of spray mixture (5 ml liverwort in 1 liter of water). The diluted solution is evenly sprayed onto the plants using a spray bottle. The application should take place preventively during the vegetation phases in which the pathogen can appear on the treated host plants.

When treating infested plants, a concentration of 1:50 (2%) is required (20 ml liverwort in 1 liter of water).

Spray the plants until dripping every 7 to 14 days.

Liverwort extract, liverwort extract for sale, fungi, bacteria and predators:

Liverwort dissolved in 70% alcohol helps particularly well against snail infestation, as everything that has been poured or sprayed with liverwort is inedible for the slugs. If the pests do not find suitable food in a garden, they do not multiply and migrate to the neighbour. Mix 5 ml of liverwort in one liter of water. Spray the plants with it in the evening until dripping wet.

Basically, you should not spray in rainy weather, otherwise the spray will be washed off again. Therefore, spraying should be done more frequently during rainy periods.

Spraying ornamental plants and above-ground parts of root or tuber vegetables with liverwort extract is completely harmless. Fruit plants whose fruits are eaten raw (e.g. strawberries) should be washed before consumption.

The liverwort extract can be used with a formulated vegetable oil (e.g. neem oil plus emulsifier). This increases the adhesion and wetting of the plants and the effect is correspondingly more effective.

Cosmetic raw material: Liverwort extract is suitable for external use. It can be dabbed onto affected skin and nails or used to prepare foot baths (20 ml liverwort extract per 5 l water).

As an additive to cleaning agents, paints or binding agents. To combat mold on walls, wood and utensils, add 10 ml of liverwort extract plus cleaning agent per 10 l of cleaning water. 10 ml of liverwort extract per m² of treated area are used to impregnate insulating materials and textiles to protect against micro-fungi.

Animal care: For external use on animals, 10-20 ml of liverwort extract is diluted with 100 ml of water and sprayed or dabbed on the fur, skin or horn. Treatment should be 2-3 times a week.
