Manganese 5 mg Manganese 5 mg GPH capsules contain 5 mg of manganese in the form of easily digestible manganese gluconate in a hard gelatine capsule.

Manganese can be stored in the human organism in relatively high concentrations in the skeleton. Manganese is important for normal growth and maintenance of the central nervous system. It is an essential factor in the construction of nucleic acids (DNA, RNA) and is therefore a basic component of cells and the genetic code. This trace element is also involved in the formation of thyroid hormones and the coenzymes that mediate the conversion of vitamins B, C and E.

Deficiency symptoms include poor bone growth, low blood sugar, poor nail and hair growth, and heart failure. In addition, a manganese deficiency leads to reduced enzyme activity. Manganese poisoning has so far only been observed in miners who have been surrounded by manganese dust for a long time. Poisoning is expressed in severe mental disorders.
