the imidazole derivative, an antifungal agent formulated for topical application. It inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol needed for the construction of fungal cell membranes, causing changes in the permeability and lead to cell death. Ketoconazole works against dermatophytes, yeasts (such as Pityrosporum ovale) and dimorphic fungi. Absorption through the skin there is very little. The drug does not penetrate into the blood and has no systemic action. Shampoo quickly removes itching and flaking of the skin, reduces oily hair and scalp. Has antifungal activity for a few days after washing your hair.
Indications therapeutically and prophylactically in dandruff of the scalp, seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff versicolor.
Dosage small amount of shampoo applied to the scalp, rub and let stand for about 5 minutes, then rinse. In dandruff normal and seborrheic dermatitis formulation is therapeutically two times a week for 2-4 weeks; prophylactically every 1-2 weeks. In dandruff versicolor: healing - once a day for 5 days; prophylactically before the summer season - once a day for 3 consecutive days.
