The composition of Oktaseptal skin spray solution:

The active substances in 100g of the drug: 0.10g octenidine dihydrochloride, 2.00g phenoxyethanol and other substances: glycerol 85%, sodium D-gluconate, cocamidopropyl betaine 30%, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Oktaseptal action of the skin spray solution:

Oktaseptal is a solution of phenoxyethanol and octenidine dihydrochloride. Indications for its use are not very extensive wounds. The product is suitable for repeated use in short-term antiseptic therapy within mucous membranes, as well as neighboring tissues before diagnostic procedures and minor surgical procedures (the preparation is suitable for use after these procedures). It works well for gynecological, proctological, urological, dermatological, venereological, geriatric, obstetrical and dental procedures. The drug consists of: phenoxyethanol and octenidine dihydrochloride. Octenidine dihydrochloride acts on the surface of the wound and skin, and phenoxyethanol penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin and mucous membranes. Oktaseptal exhibits battery, fungicidal and virucidal properties, disinfects, locally anesthesizes, cleanses the wound from dead tissues and secretions, and stimulates the healing process. It starts to work already a minute after spraying on the wound, its effect lasts for about an hour.

Application:
Oktaseptal skin spray is indicated for use in antiseptic treatment of not very extensive wounds; in disinfecting the skin and mucous membranes; in the disinfection of the oral cavity (including for afters, irritations caused when wearing an orthodontic appliance or denture); in the treatment of minor burns and ulcerations; for the care of open wounds and post-mortem sutures; to be used before diagnostic examinations within the female and male sexual organs (also after the examination); during perinatal activities (including: crotch care after incision during delivery); before diagnostic procedures (also after surgery) in the anus, before and after catheterisation of the urinary bladder, before activities related to artificial insemination in children (including: care of umbilical cord stump); in antiseptic treatment of interdigital fungus (time-limited).

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the aerosol. Do not use to rinse the eardrum, bladder, or abdomen (eg, intraoperatively).

Side effects:
People who use the drug are exposed to side effects, although they do not appear in everyone. The liquid used to rinse the mouth can cause a bitter taste lasting about an hour after application (after applying the drug, do not rinse the mouth with another preparation or water). Rare side effects: burning sensation, redness, pruritus, a feeling of warmth. Very rare side effects: contact allergic reactions, eg transient redness at the site of use. Unknown frequency of side effects: after rinsing deep wounds with a syringe, cases of persistent edema, erythema and tissue necrosis have been reported, including cases requiring surgical intervention.

Dosage of the Oktaseptal aerosol:

Oktaseptal should be used as directed by your doctor or as recommended in the leaflet. The preparation is ready to use, it should not be diluted. Disinfection of the skin and mucous membranes: moisten the sterile swab with the drug and wash the chosen place. Wait 1-5 minutes. If the doctor prescribes, the preparation can be sprayed directly on the skin and mucous membrane. Dental disinfection: 20 ml of the medicine should be used to rinse the mouth, rinse it for 20 seconds. Do not swallow the liquid. Treatment of minor burn wounds, treatment of wounds caused, for example, in atherosclerosis or diabetes: apply in the form of coarse (sterile swabs soaked with the drug). The baccades need to be changed 1-2 times a day. Care of wounds and surgical stitches: soak up the sterile gauze, wash the wound, starting from the center, heading towards its edges. Supportive in the treatment of skin fungal infections (including foot-to-foot mycosis): apply the drug directly to the skin in affected areas. Use in the morning and evening for a maximum of 14 days.
