Usually, bowel movement occurs approximately 2-4 hours after the administration of a dose of castor oil. Orally administered castor oil in the small intestine breaks down into glycerin and ricinoleic acid, then ricinoleic acid gradually saponifies into sodium and potassium soaps. Soaps and acid are irritating, thus increasing the peristalsis of the small intestine and increasing the penetration of water and electrolytes through the intestinal walls, limiting its absorption. The drug is indicated for traditional use in the above-mentioned indications resulting only from long-term use and experience.

Store the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. The drug has a laxative effect, so it should not be used simultaneously with other drugs. Always leave a few hours of break between the use of these preparations. The possibility of using the drug should be discussed with the doctor if drugs such as: sulfafurazole, aspirin, isoniazid, fat-soluble vitamins, cardiac glycosides (digitalis glycosides, strophanthins), antihistamines are used.

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use in inflammatory conditions of the abdominal organs (e.g. ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, pseudomembranous enteritis, megacolon, active gastric and duodenal ulcer disease, pancreatitis, appendicitis). Do not use in the case of intestinal obstruction (mechanical and functional intestinal obstruction). Do not use in the case of biliary obstruction and other diseases of the biliary tract. Do not use in the case of rectal bleeding. Do not use in abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and in women during menstruation. Do not use in children under 7 years of age. Do not use in women during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. Side effects: nausea, vomiting, cramps (colic), abdominal pain and violent diarrhea. Loss of electrolytes may occur with prolonged use. Rare cases of skin rash have been reported.
Oleum Ricini constipation in children 7+ oral fluid dosage:
Use the drug as prescribed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the leaflet. Adults, adolescents over 12 years of age: take 15-30ml unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Use once a day. Usually, bowel movements occur within 2-4 hours of using the drug. Children from 7 to 12 years of age: the drug can be used only under the supervision of a doctor and according to his recommendations. The liquid should be measured with the measure attached to the package. The drug can be used up to a few days. Do not take the liquid more than once a day.
