OLFEN gel 50g - diclofenac Action:

A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug OLFEN gel (aminophenylacetic acid derivative) with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. The mechanism of action is the inhibition of prostaglandin cyclooxygenase (inhibition of eicosanoid synthesis, reduction of arachidonic acid in granulocytes). OLFEN gel has antiplatelet action on platelets. Used externally (on the skin) - relieves pain, reduces swelling, reduces inflammation. The gel form of the drug facilitates absorption, with intensive use or abuse, the overall effect of the drug should be taken into account. At a typical local application, approximately 3.3% of the externally administered dose is absorbed. After being absorbed in 99%, it binds to plasma proteins. OLFEN gel is metabolised in the liver up to 4 metabolites, of which 4'-hydroxy derivatives have high anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. Metabolites in the form of glucuronides and sulphates are excreted in the urine (approximately 65%) and bile (approximately 35%). T_0.5 is about 1-2 h.

OLFEN gel 50g - diclofenac Indications:
As a painkiller and anti-inflammatory in rheumatoid diseases, degenerative joint diseases, root pain, inflammation of the nerves and neuralgia, traumatic states (inflammation, swelling after sprains, overloads, contusions). Is used in the treatment of localized rheumatic changes (bursitis, painful shoulder syndrome, tenosynovitis, periarticular inflammation). It can be used in conjunction with treatment.

OLFEN gel 50g - diclofenac Dosage:

Adults: cover the aching area with a thin layer of gel and gently rub; depending on the extent to which the gel is used, a single use of 0.5-3 ml of gel is recommended. Repeat 3-4 times a day. For external use.
