The valuable honey of the Manuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium), related to the Australian tea tree, is not only used as a luxury item in New Zealand, but also traditionally for external and internal use. In recent years, this high-quality natural product has also become known in Europe through media reports and research, including at the TU Dresden.

It was found that the unique properties of special Manuka honeys are primarily due to the so-called methylglyoxal (MGO), which is contained in this organic Manuka honey with a value of at least 100 mg/kg. In order to meet the great demand for high-quality organic Manuka honey, HOYER GmbH has entered into an exclusive partnership with the traditional New Zealand beekeeping company TranzAlpineHoney NZ Ltd.
