The active ingredient OMTEC 50® contained in Doppelherz Fett-Binder has a high lipid-binding capacity and reduces the intake of fat and calories from food. It is used to support a weight-reducing diet or can be used to control weight in combination with a fat-conscious diet. OMTEC 50® forms a gel-like substance in the stomach that mixes with food. Fat is removed from the food and bound in an insoluble form. These bound fats do not get into the metabolism, but are excreted undigested.

Dosage overweight and obesity, fat binder capsules and use (for adults):

Recommended intake to support a weight-loss diet:

• Take 2-3 capsules twice daily 15 minutes before a main meal with a large glass of water (≥ 250ml).

Recommended intake to support weight control as part of a fat-conscious diet:

• Take 1-2 capsules twice daily 15 minutes before a main meal with a large glass of water (≥ 250ml).

Do not chew or bite the capsules! In order not to fall below the daily requirement for the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K or for essential fatty acids, Doppelherz Fat-Binder should be
taken before two of the three main meals at most. Make sure the third meal contains the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K and essential fatty acids. If needed, a multivitamin supplement can help meet vitamin needs
. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Overdoses (> 6 capsules per day) of Doppelherz Fett-Binder do not improve the effect of the product, but can increase possible side effects.

Restrictions on use:
Do not take Doppelherz Fat Binder for more than 30 days in a row. The treatment can be resumed after a 4-day break.

• Do not take other medicines (e.g. contraceptives), vitamins or essential fatty acids at the same time as Doppelherz Fett-Binder. Medicines to be taken must be taken 1 hour before or 4 hours after taking
  Doppelherz Fett-Binder.
  Talk to your doctor before taking Doppelherz Fett-Binder if you need to take medicine with your main meals.
• In the event of constipation or other side effects, you must stop taking Doppelherz Fett-Binder immediately and consult a doctor.

Side effects:

• After taking Doppelherz Fett-Binder, you may experience a temporary feeling of nausea and/or abdominal pain. This usually disappears after a short time.
  
• Overdosing (> 6 capsules per day) or taking the product without adequate amounts of liquid can lead to constipation.
  
• People with sensitive stomachs or intestines may experience stomach upset, gas, or constipation. If the side effects persist, the dose should be reduced or the intake should be stopped.

The high fat-binding capacity of Doppelherz Fett-Binder can also affect the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and active ingredients in medicines. This applies, for example, to the hormones in contraceptive pills or
in preparations for the treatment of menopausal symptoms. Medicines to be taken must be taken 1 hour before or 4 hours after taking Doppelherz Fett-Binder.

Warnings:
Doppelherz Fat Binder should not be taken

• if you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients;
  
• if you have gastrointestinal diseases (e.g. acid reflux, gastritis, stomach or duodenal ulcers, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis), signs of intestinal obstruction (threatening or existing mechanical or paralytic ileus), gastroparesis in diabetics with neuropathy, intestinal polyps
  and existing severe indigestion (constipation);
  
• if you are taking warfarin (blood thinners);
  
• if you are underweight (body mass index [BMI] < 18.5);
  
• if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, so as not to jeopardize the supply of important nutrients to the unborn child or infant.
  
• Not suitable for babies or small children.
  
• Children and adolescents should only take Doppelherz Fat Binder after prior medical advice.
  
• Do not chew or crush the capsules.
  
• Keep out of the reach of children.
  
• Do not use if blister pack is damaged. Doppelherz Fett-Binder should not be taken at the same time as other medicines.
  
• If you experience any allergic reactions, stop taking the product.
