The active substance in Oxyrin Apteo Med nasal spray is oxymetazoline hydrochloride. The indication for the use of the drug is swelling of the nasal mucosa caused by inflammation of the nasal mucosa. For use over 12 years of age.

Composition of Oxyrin Apteo Med nasal spray:

Active substance: oxymetazoline hydrochloride (Oxymetazolini hydrochloridum). 1 ml contains 0.5 mg of oxymetazoline hydrochloride and other ingredients: benzalkonium chloride, disodium phosphate anhydrous, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, glycine, liquid sorbitol, non-crystallizing, purified water.

How Oxyrin Apteo Med nasal spray works:

Oxymetazoline hydrochloride is an active substance belonging to the group of drugs known as sympathomimetics. Their mechanism of action consists in local constriction of blood vessels and nasal decongestion. Oxyrin Apteo Med Nasal Spray is indicated for the relief of nasal edema caused by rhinitis. A drug for short-term, topical use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

Nasal spray Application:
Oxyrin Apteo Med nasal spray is indicated for topical and short-term use to relieve nasal swelling caused by rhinitis. For use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

Nasal spray Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you have high blood sugar (diabetes); high blood pressure (hypertension); you have a disease of the prostate gland (enlarged prostate); you have a thyroid disease (hyperthyroidism); you have a tumor of the adrenal gland (phaeochromocytoma); you are taking adrenergic bronchodilators (to treat asthma), phenothiazines (sedatives) or methyldopa (to lower blood pressure); 

if you suffer from insomnia (avoid using this medicine late in the evening or at night). Only one person should use one package. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: should not be used during pregnancy. Do not use during breastfeeding without consulting your doctor, the drug may pass into breast milk. The drug contains benzalkonium chloride - 0.2 mg of benzalkonium chloride in each milliliter of nasal spray, this ingredient may cause irritation or swelling inside the nose (especially with long-term use).

Nasal spray Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use if antidepressants are used or have been used in the last 14 days. Do not use if other sympathomimetic decongestants are used. Do not use in case of high fluid pressure inside the eye (narrow-angle glaucoma). Do not use if you have recently undergone neurosurgical surgery (transsphenoidal pituitary removal or other surgical procedure involving exposure of the dura mater). Do not use in case of heart disease or cardiovascular disease. Do not use in the case of dry rhinitis with scab formation (drying rhinitis). Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

Nasal spray Side effects:
The drug may cause side effects in some people. Common: burning, dry and / or nasal irritation or sneezing. Excessive or continued use of the drug may cause nasal congestion due to rebound effect. Rare: anxiety, fatigue, irritability, sleep disturbances in children, rapid heartbeat, palpitations, increased blood pressure, nasal congestion, nasal congestion, headache, nausea, redness, rash and visual disturbances.

Dosage of Oxyrin Apteo Med nasal spray:
