Composition
1 tablet contains 20 mg of Pantoprazolum.
Indications
Pantoprazole Genoptim SPH belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. The active substance of the drug is pantoprazole, which blocks the "pump" that produces stomach acid. In this way, the medicine reduces the amount of acid in the stomach.
Pantoprazole Genoptim SPH is used for the short-term treatment of the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (such as heartburn, acid regurgitation) in adults. Reflux is the backflow of acid from the stomach into the esophagus, which can lead to inflammation of the esophagus and cause pain. Symptoms may also include a painful burning sensation in the chest reaching up to the throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid belching). Pantoprazole Genoptim SPH can eliminate symptoms associated with reflux disease after the first day of use, but it is not a drug intended for immediate relief of symptoms. It may be necessary to take the tablets for 2 to 3 consecutive days to achieve complete relief of symptoms.
Dosage
Pantoprazole Genoptim SPH should always be taken according to the information in this leaflet. If in doubt, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Take 1 tablet (20 mg) of Pantoprazole Genoptim SPH daily. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Take the tablets before a meal, at the same time every day. The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of water. The tablets should not be chewed, crushed or divided. The medicine should be taken for at least 2 to 3 consecutive days. You should stop taking Pantoprazole Genoptim SPH when your symptoms disappear completely. It is possible to alleviate the symptoms of reflux and heartburn after just one day of taking Pantoprazole Genoptim SPH. However, please remember that this medicine is not intended to immediately relieve symptoms. To achieve complete relief of symptoms, it may be necessary to take the medicine for 7 consecutive days.
Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after taking this medicine for a full 2 weeks.
Do not take Pantoprazole Genoptim SPH for longer than 4 weeks without consulting your doctor.
Children Pantoprazole Genoptim SPH should not be used by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
