WITHOUT COLOR PIGMENTS, WITHOUT SILICONES, 98% natural ingredients
* by Laboratoires PHYTO
The appearance of gray hair is a natural phenomenon and is called canities. It affects a large part of the population and occurs earlier and earlier. Genetic predisposition, age and the environment contribute significantly to this phenomenon.
This graying of the hair results from both a pigment disorder due to a melanin deficiency and a depigmentation of the existing pigments, which is triggered by the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide. In addition to the change in color, gray hair also shows a change in the internal fiber structure: it is more brittle, tends to frizz, is unruly and grows faster.
To this day, coloring appeared to be the only way to hide gray hair. Now, after 6 years of research and a unique collaboration with renowned scientific centers, Laboratories PHYTO, experts in hair aging, have identified an extraordinary molecule: the RE30 peptide, which is able to repigment the hair at the roots. They have combined it with the extract of the purple tulip, a tailor-made active ingredient with proven and patented restructuring properties that gives the hair strength and suppleness. This unique combination is concentrated in the product PHYTO RE30, the first treatment * against gray hair.

How does hair pigmentation work?
The color of hair, like that of skin, results from a complex mechanism. Specialized cells, the melanocytes, first synthesize a pigment, melanin, with the help of three key enzymes (tyrosinase, TRP1 and TRP2). This melanin is then transferred to the keratinocytes when the hair shaft is formed, which expresses the color. This entire process of pigmentation is stimulated by a peptide hormone, alpha-MSH, which forms an activating complex by binding to its specific receptor MC1R.
The graying of the hair
Canities is the term that usually denotes the appearance and installation of gray hair. In addition to the color change, there is also a change in the internal structure of their fibers in these hairs. This natural phenomenon, which is often perceived as a sign of premature aging, can in fact occur at any age, more or less early, depending on the genetic makeup of each individual.
The graying of the hair can be attributed to:
- a pigmentation disorder due to the decrease in melanocyte activity, which leads to decreased expression of the MC1R receptor, lower melanin synthesis and impaired pigment transfer.
- Depigmentation, triggered by lower catalase activity (oxidation-inhibiting enzyme) and the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide, which discolors existing pigments.
These phenomena can be aggravated by other factors such as stress, smoking, intense sun exposure or hormonal imbalances.
Furthermore, the graying of the hair is often accompanied by a change in the internal structure of the fiber. The hair is more brittle, frizzy, more difficult to control and grows faster.
This is where PHYTO RE30 comes in and has developed active ingredients that counteract graying hair and build up the structure of the hair fiber.
The active ingredients of PHYTO RE30
The PHYTO research department has developed a molecule with extensive effectiveness on the repigmentation of gray hair: the peptide RE30.
It works on the hair root in two steps:
- Resumption of pigmentation: Due to its ability to biomimetically recreate alpha-MSH, the RE30 peptide activates the mechanism and leads to an increase in melanin synthesis and increased melanosome transfer into the hair fiber. The pigmentation is strengthened and stimulated.
- Protection against depigmentation: Promotes catalase, hydrogen peroxide is broken down, the bleaching effect is reduced. Melanocytes are strengthened in their functionality.
The RE30 peptide can reverse the graying process and repigment gray hair.
Furthermore, the PHYTO research department took part in the development of the extract from purple tulips and uses this extract for PHYTO RE30:
- The high total sugar content of the purple tulip improves the hair fiber's ability to hold water
- The purple tulip has a restructuring effect on the fiber. This innovation is the subject of a pending patent.
The extract of purple tulips helps strengthen the weakened gray hair fiber.
