  • The medicinal product Prefemin PMS 20mg is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. The active substance of the drug is chasteberry fruit extract. The drug is intended for use by adult women.

Composition of Prefemin PMS 20mg:

Active substance: chasteberry fruit extract (Agni casti fructus extractum siccum). One tablet contains 20 mg of chasteberry fruit extract and excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide; coating composition: Macrogol 400, Macrogol 20,000, propylene glycol; white coating suspension: hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), Macrogol 400.

Prefemin PMS 20mg action:

Chasteberry fruit extract is the active substance contained in the plant medicinal product Prefemin PMS 20mg. Chasteberry reduces the severity of pre-menstrual symptoms, i.e. the so-called premenstrual syndrome in women. The symptoms of PMS include: headache, skin changes, feeling of tension and swelling in the breasts, digestive system problems, mood changes, irritability, nervous tension. These symptoms usually appear up to two weeks before menstruation.

The medicinal product Prefemin PMS 20mg is indicated for use in the treatment of symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. For adult women.

Additional information:
Store the product out of the reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. You should contact your doctor if you have or have had an estrogen-dependent cancer; if the patient is taking medications from the group of: dopamine agonists, dopamine antagonists, estrogens, antiestrogens; if your symptoms get worse while taking this medicine; if you have a history of pituitary gland disorders; if you have pituitary tumors that secrete prolactin, as consumption of chasteberry fruit may mask the symptoms of the tumor. Use in children and adolescents: do not use under 18 years of age (no data on the use of the drug in this age group). Use with other drugs: due to potential interactions, consult your doctor if you are taking other medicines, especially medicines such as dopamine agonists (e.g. some medicines used for Parkinson's disease), dopamine antagonists (some medicines used for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, nausea or vomiting), estrogens (e.g. . used in hormone replacement therapy) and antiestrogens (e.g. some drugs used to treat breast cancer). Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult a doctor, but there are no indications for use in pregnant women. It is not recommended to use during breastfeeding, as reproductive studies show that chasteberry fruit extract may affect lactation. Driving and using machines: no data.

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the drug.

Side effects:
Some medications may cause side effects while taking this medicine. Frequency unknown: severe allergic reactions with facial swelling, shortness of breath and difficulty swallowing. Skin (allergic) reactions may occur, e.g. rash, hives; headaches, dizziness, gastrointestinal problems (such as nausea, abdominal pain), acne and menstrual disorders. In individual cases, individual symptoms of premenstrual syndrome may become more severe when starting to use this medicine. Once you notice the first signs of hypersensitivity or allergic reaction, you should not take this medicine again. Consult your doctor if any side effects occur, including side effects not listed in the leaflet.

Dosage of Prefemin PMS 20mg tablets:

Use the medicine as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the leaflet. Recommended dose: adult women - take one tablet a day. Take orally, drink water. Use regardless of meals, preferably always at the same time, e.g. after waking up or before going to bed. Duration of therapy: it is recommended to use the drug for three months (also during menstruation) to achieve optimal treatment effect. You should consult your doctor if symptoms persist after continuous use for more than three months.
