PROLACTO FLORA Properties:
A millennial tradition links the nutrition of our people with yogurt rich in lactobacilli. As early as the end of the 19th century, the Ukrainian scientist Ilya Mechnikov made a connection between the longevity of the Balkan peoples and the beneficial effect of yogurt. In 1905, the Bulgarian doctor Dr. Stamen Grigorov discovered that this beneficial effect was due to a rod of lactic acid bacteria, which he called "Bacillus A". Later it was named Lactobacilus Bulgaricus, in honor of the homeland of its discoverer.
Studies show that Bulgaria is a kind of geographical oasis, a source of natural strains of the most favorable lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus, which are the basis of yogurt. Although these two bacteria are also contained in imported yogurts, the concentration of Lactobacillus bulgaricus in Bulgarian yogurt is 4 to 7 times higher than in milks produced in Western Europe. It is this higher concentration that is due to the unique taste and aroma of our yogurt, as well as its unique beneficial properties.
We will list only some of the beneficial properties of Lactobacillus bulgaricus:
- has high biological resistance in the gastrointestinal tract and significantly long survival - up to 15-20 days after discontinuation;
- has a strong antimutagenic effect, which contributes to suppressing the action of mutagens and carcinogens in the body and absorbs them;
- surpasses all other bacteria in the production of natural antibiotics;
- contribute to reduce the concentration of cholesterol in the body. They entrain the cholesterol molecule and quickly direct it to the colon to expel it;
- stimulates the functions of the gastrointestinal flora;
- Bacillus bulgaricus are among the main activators of the immune system.
Lactobacillus bulgaricus taken together with Lb. acidophilus; Streptococcus thermophilus; Lb. Helveticus, effectively competitively inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida and others. and contribute to improving the body's natural immune system.
The only good bacterium in its group, Streptococcus thermophilus, works with Lactobacillus bulgaricus to produce lactase, an enzyme that breaks down lactose and helps sufferers of lactose intolerance, as well as improves the immune system.
Lactobacillus acidophilus is a probiotic that produces lactic acid, which inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria and yeast.
Lactobacillus plantarum retains important nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants from the diet and helps absorb them.
