The application of the wound gel is painless and well tolerated by allergy sufferers. The unpleasant odor from the wounds is quickly neutralized.

PRONTOSAN GEL General use:

First of all, wounds should always be irrigated and washed with Prontosan Wound Irrigation Solution to remove detritus and further treatment with Prontosan Wound Gel. The wound should be permanently covered with gel. For this purpose, Prontosan gel is applied to the wound, filling fissures, wound pockets or cavities.
Prontosan wound gel should remain on the wound until the dressing is changed. Depending on the frequency of changing the dressing, different amounts of gel are used:
- larger amount: when the dressing is changed every few days
- smaller amount: when the dressing is changed every day or every other day

In this way the surface of the wound is kept constantly hydrated, which is a prerequisite for good cleaning and decontamination. The biofilm is carefully removed with the next dressing change. Applications should be frequent enough to achieve easy removal of all coatings and necrosis and for optimal wound cleaning. This is a good prerequisite for natural wound healing and facilitates surgical debridement with optimal visibility.

Wash the wound area : In order to minimize the entry of bacteria into the wound, it is recommended to wash a large area around the entire wound with Protnosan Wound Irrigation Solution. If necessary, decontamination is performed by washing the whole body area or the whole body of the patient with appropriate products.

Tissue tolerance and biocompatibility: Non-cytotoxic, non-irritating, non-sensitizing, painless, non-inhibiting granulation and epithelialization, assessed as dermatologically harmless. Many years of clinical experience have demonstrated that there is good tissue tolerance to polyhexanide and undecylenamidopropyl betaine even in patients with extreme chronic wounds.

Side effects : In very rare cases, a slight burning sensation is observed after the application of Prontosan gel for wounds, but it disappears after a few minutes. Prontosan can cause allergic reactions such as itching and rash.
