INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: INFORMATION FOR THE USER

Rhus toxicodendron Ointment
Active ingredient: Toxicodendron quercifolium e foliis ferm 33d

Composition:
10 g contains: Toxicodendron quercifolium e foliis ferm 33d Ø 0.1 g (HAB, Vs. 33d). Other ingredients: Refined peanut oil, white petrolatum, purified water, wool wax. Contains peanut oil and wool wax.

Indications:
According to the anthroposophical understanding of man and nature. These include: Painful disorders of the musculoskeletal system, e.g., joint inflammation (arthritis), also of the spine, muscle pain (myalgia), nerve pain (neuralgia), and nerve inflammation (neuritis), herpetiform skin diseases.

Contraindications:
Rhus toxicodendron ointment must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to:

  • Rhus toxicodendron or other poison ivy plants.
  • Peanut or soy or any of the other ingredients.



Precautions for use and warnings:
Rhus toxicodendron ointment contains substances that, when used over a long period of time, very often cause allergies in patients with slow-healing wounds or ulcers. If you use Rhus toxicodendron ointment on long-standing wounds (e.g., open leg ulcers, bedsores due to bed rest, or weeping skin rashes), please pay particular attention to the occurrence of itching, redness, and swelling of the surrounding skin. If you notice any such signs, please stop using Rhus toxicodendron ointment and consult your doctor. Lanolin can cause localized skin irritation (e.g., contact dermatitis).

Dosage and method of administration:
Unless otherwise prescribed, apply the ointment once or twice daily or use as an ointment dressing.

Duration of use:
Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks. If there is no improvement within 2-5 days, consult a doctor. The duration of treatment for chronic illnesses requires consultation with a physician.

Side effects:
Peanut oil can rarely cause severe allergic reactions. Hypersensitivity to the components of Rhus toxicodendron ointment, particularly wool wax alcohols, may cause allergic reactions. If skin reddening occurs, possibly accompanied by itching, please discontinue use of Rhus toxicodendron ointment and consult your doctor if necessary.
