Scopolan is used in bile and bladder spasms, as well as gastric and duodenal ulcer disease, vomiting after anesthesia.

 

SCOPOLAN Composition:
1 tabl. coated (1 suppository) contains 10 mg of hyoscine butylbromide.

SCOPOLAN Action:
Butyloscolamine is parasympatolytic, eliminating smooth muscle spasms of the digestive tract, bile ducts, and urinary tract. Poorly absorbed from the digestive tract. It does not cross the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier. T 0.5 is 4.8 h.

SCOPOLAN Indications:
Biliary and bladder spasms, gastric and duodenal ulcer, vomiting after anesthesia, gastrointestinal cramps, spastic constipation, pyloric spasm. Helpful in differentiating tubal obstruction, in radiological diagnosis of the esophagus, stomach, duodenum and urinary tract.

Contraindications:
Glaucoma, first trimester of pregnancy and breastfeeding, prostatic hyperplasia, atonic constipation, paralytic ileus, hypersensitivity to tropane alkaloids, leukopenia.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Do not use during the first trimester. In II and III trimesters, only if the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child. Do not use during breast-feeding.

SCOPOLAN Dosage:
Orally. Adults and children over 12 years of age 1-2 tablets 3-5 times a day. Children from 6-12 years of age 10 mg (1 tablet) twice a day. Rectally 1 suppository 2-3 times a day.
