  • The drug is a remedy for greasy, scaly skin diseases with the active ingredient selenium disulfide (inorganic antiseborrhoeic).
  • It is used only for external use in non-inflammatory scalp diseases with increased dandruff such as pityriasis sicca or seborrhoea sicca and in pityriasis versicolor.

 

Dosage SELSUN suspension, selenium disulfide shampoo :

 

  • Always use this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • frequency of use
    • For scaly scalp diseases:
      • It is recommended to use the preparation 1 to 2 times a week. Distribute an amount corresponding to 1 to 2 teaspoons on the scalp according to the fullness of the hair.
    • For pityriasis versicolor (fungal lichen):
      • It is recommended to apply the preparation once a day on the affected body part for 5 to 10 minutes for 7 days.
  • duration of use
    • For scaly scalp diseases:
      • The duration of therapy is usually 2 to 3 weeks. If the symptoms reappear, this therapy can be repeated at the discretion of the doctor treating you.
    • For pityriasis versicolor (fungal lichen):
      • The duration of treatment is one to a maximum of two weeks.
