SEPTOFORT Composition:

Each tablet contains:

Chlorhexidine digluconate 2 mg.

Do not take Septofort 2 mg. if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to chlorhexidine or any of the other ingredients of the product.

Due to the content of sorbitol, the product should not be used by people who are hypersensitive to fructose and people who suffer from fructose 1,6-diphosphate deficiency. Due to the content of aspartame, the product should not be used by people with phenylketonuria.

Application:

Septofort 2 mg. It is used for topical treatment of inflamed gums, infections of the oral cavity: canker sores, fungal infections, inflammation of the oral cavity due to dental procedures, inflammation of the tongue, nasopharynx and tonsils, to maintain oral hygiene after tonsilloectomy ( tonsils) and tooth extraction. It is also used as an adjunct treatment for painful ulcers of the oral mucosa, which can be the result of many factors.

SEPTOFORT Dosage:

The usual dose is:

Adults - 1 tablet 3 times daily after meals until dissolved in the mouth, with an interval between doses of 2 hours. Children from 5-12 years - 1/2 to 1 tablet twice a day. Children over 12 years and adolescents -1 tablet 3 times a day.
This product is not recommended for children under 5 years of age.
The tablets can be used in diabetics because they contain sorbitol instead of sugar.

If you take more Septofort 2 mg than you should

Overdose may occur after ingestion of a larger amount of the active substance. In this case, it is recommended to take milk, protein and contact your doctor immediately, or visit the emergency department of the nearest hospital.

If you forget to take Septofort 2 mg

Continue to take the usual dose at the usual time; it does not matter if you miss a dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
You should tell your doctor if your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days.

Possible side effects:

Like all medicines, Septofort 2 mg can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The side effects are listed below.
Reddening of the skin, allergic reactions, inflammation of the oral mucosa and brown discolouration of the teeth and tongue (which can be prevented by regular and active brushing of the teeth, or discontinuation of treatment) may occur rarely.
Temporary taste disturbances and burning of the tongue may occur at the beginning of treatment. Diarrhea may occur in patients sensitive to sorbitol.
Discontinue the product immediately or consult your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any allergic skin reaction (redness or itching, another allergic reaction).
If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking other medications

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
There should be at least 30 minutes between taking Septofort 2 td and brushing your teeth, as this has an effect.

Taking Septofort 2 mg with food and drink

Do not eat or drink liquids within 1-2 hours after ingestion.

Pregnancy and lactation

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

Driving and using machines

This product does not affect your ability to drive or use machines.

Keep out of reach of children.
Store below 25 C in a dry place.
Store in the original package in order to protect from light.
