NATURAL CLEANING OF THE NOSE

The cilia of the nasal mucous membrane play an important role in cleaning the air we breathe and regulating the moisture in the nose. But they are exposed to a lot of stress, because a low level of humidity dries out the mucous membranes, which means that viruses can settle and multiply more easily. Dry heating air is not the only culprit, air conditioning or allergy-causing substances can disturb the delicate balance.

SNUP cold spray 0.05% nasal spray HELLY - NOT ONLY UNPLASABLE IN WINTER An

average of 6–12 times a year children suffer from colds. This is triggered by viruses and usually transmitted via droplet infection. A runny nose, difficult breathing and disturbed sleep are not only uncomfortable, a cold can also lead to complications, such as sinus infections and middle ear infections, or even respiratory diseases such as bronchitis. Outside the winter months, allergy sufferers have to struggle with hay fever and the resulting allergic rhinitis. So cold is in season all year round.

BREATHE FREE AGAIN

SNUP ®Cold spray 0.05% is the only cold remedy that contains the unique combination of a decongestant (xylometazoline) and Icelandic seawater for light moistening. With SNUP ® rhinitis spray 0.05% you can finally breathe freely again - and without preservatives.

HOW DOES THE RUNNING ACTUALLY DEVELOP?

The inside of the nose is lined with mucous membrane, which is very well supplied with blood. When a runny nose, the viruses cause inflammation, which causes the body to release tissue hormones such as histamine. Histamine, in turn, dilates the blood vessels in the mucous membrane, causing it to swell. In addition, the blood vessels become more permeable, water escapes and is perceived as a blocked and runny nose.

USING THE BODY'S MECHANISM

When aroused, the adrenal gland releases the stress hormones adrenaline and noradrenaline. Both stress hormones work via the unconscious (vegetative) nervous system, where they bind to alpha or beta receptors. Basically, their job is to prepare the body for flight or fight, which is why they reduce the sensation of pain, deepen breathing and increase blood pressure. However, another important effect of adrenaline and noradrenaline is that they contract the blood vessels. And this is exactly where xylometazoline comes in in the SNUP ®Nasal spray used. Because when used locally, xylometazoline binds to the alpha receptors of the blood vessels in the mucous membrane and acts like adrenaline there. This is why this class of active ingredients is also called alpha sympathomimetics. By docking with the receptors, the blood vessels in the nose contract, the nasal mucous membrane swells and excess cold secretion is more easily blown out. The runny nose will stop and open again.
