Composition of Solvetusan, dry non productive cough treatment:
The active substance:levodropropizin (Levodropropizinum). Each tablet contains 60 mg of levodropropizin and excipients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), magnesium stearate.

Levodropropizin is an active substance that has an antitussive effect and also reduces bronchospasm. Solvetusan is a drug indicated for the symptomatic treatment of dry (non-productive) cough. Research shows that this drug is effective in inhibiting cough of various origins, including cough in infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, in the course of lung cancer and in the case of whooping cough.

This medicine contains sodium - less than 1mmol (23mg) sodium per tablet, so it is essentially 'sodium-free'.
Contraindications:

Side effects:

Stop taking the medicine and seek medical help immediately if you experience the following symptoms: an allergic reaction that may occur within 20 minutes of taking the medicine (rash, severe swelling of the face, mouth or throat, difficulty breathing, speaking or swallowing, drop in blood pressure rapidly, slow or fast heart rate, paleness, restlessness, sweating, dizziness, loss of consciousness, stopping breathing and heart beat) - very rare angioedema (severe allergic reaction - sudden swelling of the lips, tongue, throat, face, limbs or joints without itching or pain). Swelling of the head and neck, may cause difficulty in swallowing and breathing - very rarely; severe skin reactions (hives, itching) or skin diseases such as blistering - frequency not known; heart rhythm disturbances (uneven heart beat, risk of atrial bigemia) - frequency unknown; hypoglycemic coma (loss of consciousness due to a severe drop in blood sugar) - frequency not known; fainting - frequency unknown; convulsions - frequency unknown. Other side effects: very rarely - urticaria, erythema, rash, itching, skin reactions; stomach pain, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; general malaise; dizziness, balance problems, tremors, tingling, numbness; heart problems (palpitations, tachycardia), low blood pressure; irritability, drowsiness, depersonalization (feeling of alienation from oneself); shortness of breath, cough, swelling of the respiratory mucosa; asthenia (general weakness of the body) and weakness of the lower limbs; frequency unknown - glossitis and aphthous stomatitis with fever; cholestatic hepatitis (inflammation caused by a stoppage of the flow of bile from the liver); cases of generalized swelling, fainting and weakness; seizures: major epileptic seizure (clonic-tonic seizures) and small epileptic seizures (non-convulsive, so-called petit mal seizure); pupil dilation and loss of vision. In both cases, symptoms resolved after drug discontinuation; somnolence, reduction of muscle tension and vomiting in the newborn, which was attributed to levodropropizin entering the child's body, taken by the breast-feeding mother (symptoms appeared after feeding and disappeared spontaneously after missing a few breastfeeding); swelling of the eyelids.
Dosage of dry non productive cough treatment, Solvetusan tablets:
Use the drug as recommended on the leaflet or according to the doctor's instructions. Use orally, it is recommended to be taken between meals. You can break the tablet if you have difficulty swallowing (the line does not divide the tablet into equal doses). The recommended dose: adults and children weighing more than 30 kg: take one tablet up to 3 times a day at intervals of at least 6 hours. Duration of treatment: as directed by your doctor or until the cough is gone. If symptoms persist after 7 days of using the drug, stop taking the tablets and consult a doctor.
