Tavegil tablets are an antiallergic agent for the oral treatment of allergic diseases (allergic runny nose) and itching, for example in hives. The drug has a sedating (dampening) effect and should be taken if this effect is also desired.

How do Tavegil tablets work?
The active ingredient (clemastine fumarate) helps with allergies and relieves itching. It suppresses the effect of the body's own substance histamine by displacing it from its binding sites. As a tissue hormone and a kind of messenger substance, histamine plays an important role in the development of inflammation and allergic reactions. The blockage of its binding sites interrupts the allergic reaction process.

Use of Tavegil tablets:
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
Adults and adolescents from 12 years of age: 1 tablet each morning and evening. In severe cases, up to 6 tablets can be administered within 24 hours. The highest single dose is 2 tablets. Children from 6 to 12 years: ½ tablet twice a day, in severe cases 1 tablet up to twice a day.
Do not take more than the recommended dose.

Allergic symptoms, itching of any origin, e.g. contact allergies, eczema, chickenpox.
