What does melatonin do to your eyes?


Melatonin can act as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulation agents besides neuroprotection, which demonstrated superior therapy effect in retinal diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy (DR), and immunologic ocular diseases like uveitis.
Is melatonin good for dry eyes?


Melatonin alleviates high-fat-diet-induced dry eye by regulating macrophage polarization via IFT27 and lowering ERK/JNK phosphorylation.

Active ingredients

  • 983 mg Melatonin D3

Excipients

  • Water for injection
  • Potassium nitrate
  • Boric acid
  • Sodium tetraborate

Composition:
10 g (= 10 ml) contains: Mel Dil. D3 aquos. (HAB, V. 5b) 9.828 g.

Other ingredients:
Potassium nitrate, boric acid, sodium tetraborate. Oligodynamic silver preservation.

Areas of application:
Registered homeopathic medicine according to anthroposophical knowledge of man and nature, therefore no therapeutic indication is given.

Dosage:
Unless otherwise prescribed, drip 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 1-3 times daily.

Contraindications:
Do not use in infants and children under 3 years of age.

Pregnancy/breastfeeding:
As with all medicines, only use after consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

Children:
Children under 3 years of age: see contraindications. Should not be used in children aged 4 to 12 years due to insufficient documented experience.
