How long can I use the started tube after the first application?
The eye gel must not be used for more than 6 weeks after opening.
Which side effects are possible, among other things?
An intolerance reaction to one of the ingredients can very rarely occur. Vidisic ®contains the preservative cetrimide, which can cause eye irritation (burning sensation, reddening, foreign body sensation) and damage the corneal epithelium, especially with frequent and long-term use. If you experience these symptoms, you should prefer preservative-free preparations for the treatment of chronic keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye).
For severe symptoms of dry eyes
The Vidisic ®Eye gel for the treatment of severe and permanent symptoms caused by dry eyes is the best-selling carbomer tear substitute in Germany. The highly effective ingredient provides the cornea and conjunctiva with long-lasting moisture. Due to its gel-like consistency, many users prefer to use the product overnight.
The tear film
Every day we blink our eyes around 14,000 times. With every blink of the eye, a wafer-thin film of tears is spread over the eye, which keeps the surface of the eye smooth, clean and moist and protects the eye from harmful substances. If the amount or composition of the tear film is disturbed, symptoms of drying out of the cornea and conjunctiva can lead to burning, dryness, sensation of pressure and foreign bodies as well as sensitivity to light.
RECOMMENDED carbomer eye gel USE:
Tilt your
head back. With the index finger of one hand, pull the lower lid of the eye downwards. With the other hand hold the tube vertically over the eye without touching the eye and drop 1 drop into the pulled down conjunctival sac. Close your eye slowly and move it back and forth so that the drop is well distributed. Contact lenses should be removed before using Vidisic ® eye gel and only reinserted 15 minutes after use.
After using Vidisic ®Eye gel, streaking can lead to a short-term reduction in visual performance and the ability to react. During this time you should not drive, operate machines or work without a secure footing.
AGE
As a result of hormonal changes and with increasing age, women in particular suffer from a decline in tear production, the symptoms of which are alleviated by artificial moistening of the eye.
DIABETES
Diabetes is a systemic disease that can lead to sicca syndrome in the eye.
DISEASES
Various diseases are accompanied by dry eyes. Rheumatism or thyroid diseases in particular are possible triggers.
