- The medicinal product Visine Comfort 0.5 mg/ml eye drops contains tetryzoline hydrochloride which reduces eye congestion. This medicine is indicated for the temporary treatment of eye redness in adults and children over 2 years of age.
Composition of Visine Comfort 0.5 mg/ml eye drops:
Active substance: tetryzoline hydrochloride (Tetryzolini hydrochloridum). 1ml of eye drops contains 0.5mg of tetryzoline hydrochloride and auxiliary substances: glycerol, hypromellose, macrogol 400, boric acid, disodium phosphate, sodium citrate, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, sodium (S)-lactate, solution, glycine, ascorbic acid , dextrose monohydrate, polyquaternium 42, solution, purified water.

Tetryzoline hydrochloride is a drug used in ophthalmology as a decongestant. The medicinal product Visine Comfort 0.5 mg/ml eye drops is indicated for use in adults, adolescents and children over 2 years of age in the immediate treatment of eye redness, which resulted from minor, non-infectious irritations.
Application:
The medicinal product Visine Comfort 0.5 mg/ml eye drops indicated for temporary use in the treatment of eye redness resulting from minor, non-infectious irritations caused by, for example, dust, smoke, wind, light, chlorinated water, allergies. For use in adults, adolescents, children over 2 years of age.
Additional information:
Keep the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Do not use the preparation if there is a change in color or turbidity of the solution. After first opening, use within 6 weeks. Before using the drug, consult your doctor if you suffer from the following symptoms: severe cardiovascular disease (e.g. coronary artery disease, hypertension, phaeochromocytoma), benign prostatic hyperplasia, metabolic disorders (e.g. hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, formation of red blood pigment), sicca rhinitis (chronic inflammation of the front of the nose), dry eye syndrome (dryness of the conjunctiva and cornea), glaucoma. In case of, if after 48 hours of using the drug there is no improvement or symptoms worsen, irritation and redness persist, eye pain and changes in vision occur, stop using the drug and consult a doctor. Irritation or redness due to infection, foreign body in the eye or chemical damage to the cornea requires medical attention. If you experience symptoms such as headache, loss of vision, visual disturbances (e.g., the appearance of moving spots or double vision), severe acute or one-sided redness of the eyes or pain when exposed to light, stop using the drug and consult a doctor. as these symptoms may indicate a serious eye disease, in which case this medicine will not work. Do not use doses higher than recommended, do not use the drug for more than 3-5 consecutive days. Transient dilatation of the pupils may occur during the use of the preparation. Use in children: use in children under 12 years of age only with the help of an adult, in children over 2 years of age to 6 years of age - the possibility of use should be consulted with a doctor. The use of the drug in children under 2 years of age is contraindicated. Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding: the possibility of using the drug should be discussed with a doctor, however, studies on the use of tetryzoline in women during pregnancy and breast-feeding have not been conducted. Mydriasis and blurred vision may occur after using the drug, which impairs the ability to drive and use machines. The drug contains phosphates - 7.5mcg of phosphates in each drop.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use in narrow-angle glaucoma. Do not use in children under 2 years of age.
Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking this medicine. Rare: mydriasis. Very rare: dryness of the conjunctiva with closure of the lacrimal points after long-term use of tetryzoline, watery eyes after long-term use of tetryzoline. Common: eye irritation (pain, stinging, burning), decreased visual acuity, rebound hyperaemia, burning sensation of the mucous membranes, dryness of the mucous membranes. Not known: increased tearing, burning of the eyes or around the eyes, redness, irritation, swelling, pain, itching.
Dosage of Visine Comfort 0.5 mg/ml eye drops:
Use the drug as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the leaflet. Adults, adolescents, children over 6 years of age: unless your doctor tells you otherwise, apply 1-2 drops to the affected eye, instill 2-3 times a day. People who wear contact lenses must remove the lenses before application, they can be reinserted after at least 15 minutes after application. Children over 2 years of age to 6 years of age: can be used only after prior consultation with medical staff. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, apply 1 drop to the affected eye, 2-3 times a day. Application: apply to the eye. Gently squeezing the bottle, let the right amount of drops into the conjunctival sac. Do not touch the tip of the bottle to your eye or other surfaces. After application, blink for a few seconds, thanks to which the medicine will evenly spread over the eye. Close the bottle tightly. Duration of treatment: it is recommended to use the drug for the shortest possible time necessary to relieve symptoms, do not use the drug for more than 5 consecutive days.
