Vitamin B2 axicur® 10 mg tablets
Important nutrient for energy metabolism, nervous system and skin
Vitamin B2, also known as riboflavin, is involved in many processes in the body. It plays a role in energy and protein metabolism and thus contributes, for example, to the normal functions of the nervous system, skin and mucous membranes.1
Vitamin B2 is found in numerous animal and plant foods. It is generally absorbed in abundance through the diet.
If sufficient vitamin B2 cannot be ensured through food - for example, in the case of an unbalanced diet, in old age and at the same time with an increased vitamin B2 requirement during pregnancy and breastfeeding - taking vitamin B2 axicur 10 mg tablets can compensate for a proven vitamin B2 deficiency.
Vitamin B2 axicur 10 mg tablets are very well tolerated. The tablets can be divided for easier consumption.
Treatment of a vitamin B2 deficiency
Riboflavin is a water-soluble vitamin. Since the body cannot produce vitamin B2 itself and can only store small amounts, it must be regularly consumed through food. Good sources of vitamin B2 are meat (especially offal) and fish, milk, cheese and eggs, as well as whole grain products, spinach and broccoli.
If the body is not supplied with sufficient vitamin B2, this can be shown by deficiency symptoms such as chapped corners of the mouth, eczema, chronic inflammation of the oral mucosa or increased tear flow. If you notice the above deficiency symptoms, contact your family doctor. A vitamin B2 deficiency can be easily diagnosed with a blood test.

ONE-SIDED NUTRITION
In the case of malnutrition or undernutrition, as is more common in older people, or a strict vegetarian diet with simultaneous gluten intolerance, an inadequate supply of vitamin B2 can occur.
A deficiency can be remedied with Vitamin B2 axicur 10 mg tablets.
DURING PREGNANCY & BREASTFEEDING
Pregnant women may have an increased need for vitamin B2. The same applies to breastfeeding. If the requirement cannot be met through diet, it makes sense to take additional vitamin B2. Before taking Vitamin B2 axicur 10 mg tablets in these life situations, please consult your gynecologist.
IN THE CASE OF ILLNESS
Certain illnesses, e.g. intestinal diseases such as Crohn's disease, can lead to a vitamin B2 deficiency due to impaired nutrient absorption in the intestine. If too little riboflavin is absorbed by the body due to illness, additional administration of vitamin B2 may be indicated.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Why can a vitamin B2 deficiency occur with a strict vegetarian diet?
In general, there is no need to worry about a vitamin B2 deficiency with a varied vegetarian diet, as long as there are enough plant-based foods rich in vitamin B2 on the menu, such as whole grain products or vegetables (e.g. broccoli, cabbage, spinach). However, if there is a gluten intolerance, for example, the vitamin B2 requirement may not be met. Since vitamin B2 decomposes more quickly when exposed to light, vegetables must be stored in a light-protected manner. In addition, the valuable vitamin passes into the cooking water. The liquid should therefore be used when preparing meals.
How long should I take the vitamin B2 axicur® 10 mg tablets?
The vitamin B2 axicur 10 mg tablets should be used as long as your needs cannot be met through diet. Please discuss the duration of use and dosage with your doctor.
