Xylometazoline hydrochloride is a drug that constricts blood vessels, reduces nasal congestion and swelling, and reduces the amount of secretions. Store the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Only one person should use one package. Before taking this medicine, consult your doctor in the following cases: high blood pressure, heart disease (e.g. long QT syndrome), hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, prostatic hyperplasia, benign tumor of the adrenal gland that produces large amounts of adrenaline and norepinephrine (a tumor phaeochromocytoma), taking certain antidepressants (monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)) or, if you have taken them in the last two weeks, hypersensitivity to substances that act like xylometazoline. Use in children and adolescents: do not use under 12 years of age. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: do not use the drug during pregnancy. The drug may be used during breastfeeding only if recommended by a doctor. The drug contains benzalkonium chloride which may irritate the mucous membranes.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use after surgery performed through the nose (e.g. removal of the pituitary gland or surgery involving the exposure of the dura mater). Do not use in the case of narrow-angle glaucoma. Do not use when the nasal mucosa is very dry (drying rhinitis or atrophic rhinitis).
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug.
