Active Acetylcysteine, lactoferrin, Pulmac-600 10 effervescent tablets ingredients

- Acetylcysteine is a substance that is a derivative of cysteine, a natural amino acid. It is a component of many expectorant preparations, responsible for liquefying secretions and facilitating their expectoration from the respiratory tract.
- Due to the presence of reactive sulfhydryl groups (SH) in its structure, acetylcysteine reduces the viscosity of mucus and improves the function of the respiratory epithelium responsible for removing excess secretions in the respiratory tract.
- Acetylcysteine additionally has an effective ability to bind free radicals and detoxify them. Moreover, being a precursor of glutathione, one of the most important antioxidants in the human body, it directly influences its increased synthesis. Lactoferrin is a naturally occurring protein, among others. in milk, tears and saliva. The largest amounts of it can be found in colostrum (Latin: colostrum), i.e. mother's initial milk. It is believed to have a very broad spectrum of action. It has antioxidant properties and binds metal ions, mainly iron, which is necessary for pathogens to grow. Thanks to these properties, it has proven antibacterial and antiviral properties. Lactoferrin also has immunostimulating and immunomodulatory properties that support the body in the fight against infections.
- Zinc and selenium are one of the most important microelements necessary for the proper functioning of the entire body. They fulfill a number of important functions, including supporting the immune system in its proper functioning and protecting body cells against oxidative stress.
