More and more people are complaining about migraine headaches. According to current studies, around 8-12 million people in Germany are affected by migraines. It is 12-14% of all women and 6-8% of all men.1 A migraine attack manifests itself as a severe, often one-sided throbbing headache and is often accompanied by nausea or vomiting as well as increased sensitivity to light and noise.
Early treatment with Sumatriptan HEXAL ® for migraine in the acute headache phase can quickly relieve the distressing symptoms of migraine with and without aura. The medication works specifically in the head, where the migraine occurs. The soothing effect occurs after about 30 minutes.
Targeted & quick
The active ingredient sumatriptan relieves migraine-related headaches after about 30 minutes, while migraine-related symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and noise can also be reduced. Sumatriptan HEXAL ® for migraines works at any time during the headache phase of a migraine attack; the best possible effect is achieved when used early, immediately after the onset of the headache. Sumatriptan is the oldest and best-studied triptan and is considered well tolerated for migraines. Due to its rapid effect after around 30 minutes, sumatriptan is particularly suitable for severe but short-lasting migraine attacks.
RECOMMENDED USE:
Adults aged 18 and over take 1 tablet of Sumatriptan HEXAL ® whole with water for migraine at the first sign of an acute migraine headache attack. If a headache that has already subsided occurs again, another tablet can be taken within 24 hours; the interval between doses must be at least 2 hours. The maximum dose of 2 film-coated tablets within 24 hours must not be exceeded.
Sumatriptan HEXAL ® for migraines is not suitable for preventing migraines. The medicine only works once the acute headache phase of migraine has begun.

There is limited information on the safety of Sumatriptan HEXAL ® for migraine in pregnant women. Your doctor may recommend that you not take Sumatriptan HEXAL ® for migraines during pregnancy.
You must not breastfeed your baby until 12 hours after taking Sumatriptan HEXAL ® for migraines.
If you express milk during this time, discard it and do not give the milk to your infant.

People aged 65 and over should check with their doctor whether Sumatriptan HEXAL ® can be taken for migraines during a migraine attack.
Can Sumatriptan HEXAL ® help with migraines for all types of headaches?
Sumatriptan HEXAL ® for migraines is specifically for the treatment of acute migraines with and without aura, after the initial diagnosis of migraines by the doctor. If you have a headache that has another cause, Sumatriptan HEXAL ® should not be used for migraines.
Sumatriptan HEXAL ® for migraines helps quickly (onset of action after approx. 30 minutes) for short, severe migraine-related headaches. Naratriptan HEXAL ® for migraines is recommended for migraine-related headaches that begin slowly, last for a long time and often recur within an attack . Mild to moderate tension headaches and headaches as a side effect of a cold can possibly be relieved by taking IbuHEXAL ® acute or Ibu-LysinHEXAL ® .
