gaba benefits:
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a neurotransmitter that may have a number of benefits, including:
Stress and anxiety: GABA is thought to help control anxiety, stress, and fear. It works by relaxing the brain and counteracting the natural stimulants produced by the adrenal glands during stress.
Sleep: GABA can help relax you, which may shorten the time it takes to fall asleep.
Blood pressure: GABA may help treat high blood pressure.
Inflammation: GABA may help with inflammation issues, which may provide relief for people with PMS or other conditions that come with chronic pain.
Exercise tolerance: GABA may help increase exercise tolerance.
Other conditions: GABA may also help with premenstrual syndrome (PMS), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and pain or discomfort from injuries.
When taking GABA supplements, it's best to start with a lower dose and work your way up to find the dosage that works best for you. If you notice any negative side effects, decrease your dosage and consider consulting with your doctor if symptoms persist.
It's thought to play a major role in controlling anxiety, stress and fear. Decreased GABA levels are associated with several neurological and mental health conditions, as well as other medical conditions. Increasing GABA levels may help treat high blood pressure, diabetes and insomnia.
GABA-transaminase deficiency is a brain disease (encephalopathy) that begins in infancy. Babies with this disorder have recurrent seizures (epilepsy), uncontrolled limb movements (choreoathetosis), exaggerated reflexes (hyperreflexia), weak muscle tone (hypotonia), and excessive sleepiness (hypersomnolence).
It has a calming effect by blocking certain signals in the nervous system. The brain produces and responds to many neurotransmitters that trigger or inhibit specific reactions in the body. GABA calms the nervous system by preventing the transmission of certain signals.
