Vitamins B6 and C, as well as zinc, copper and magnesium, are considered cofactors of diamine oxidase or “antagonists” of histamine. Tryptophan is a basic building block of the happiness hormone serotonin. The tryptophan metabolism is often disturbed in the case of frequent digestive disorders due to malabsorption. With a low-histamine diet, those affected can conveniently supplement vitamins B6 & C, zinc, copper and magnesium as well as tryptophan every day with betadianine, thus supporting an adequate supply of these essential nutrients.
