WET contact lenses, hyaluronic acid, electrolytes, VISLUBE disposable doses:
More and more people in Germany and Great Britain need visual aids permanently or occasionally. *This includes around 3.5 million contact lens wearers. With all the comfort that these offer in principle, it can still happen that symptoms such as burning, itchy and watery eyes, a foreign body sensation or dry eyes occur during the course of the day when wearing contact lenses. This is because contact lenses affect the composition, stability and quantity of the tear film. In addition, the cornea of the eye is free of blood vessels - these would impair vision - it must therefore be supplied with nutrients and oxygen via the tear fluid.
WETTING SOLUTIONS PROTECT AGAINST DRYNESS AND IRRITATION
So-called wetting solutions such as VISLUBE ®, which, like the natural tear film, contain hyaluronic acid, optimally moisten the eyes and lenses, work for a long time and are particularly comfortable. They cover the surface of the eyes with a transparent liquid film and protect against dryness and irritation. The hyaluronic acid it contains can bind large amounts of liquid. VISLUBE ® leaves no deposits or crusts on the contact lenses and is also free of preservatives - which is good for both the eyes and the contact lenses.
VISLUBE ® WITH SELECTED INGREDIENTS
VISLUBE ®However, it is not only superficial. The balanced osmolarity also supplies the cells with moisture. The unique formulation contains important tear fluid electrolytes, such as calcium, magnesium and potassium, in naturally occurring concentrations to supply and nourish the cornea. VISLUBE ® is a medical product and due to its special composition it is extremely well tolerated.

Can you prevent dry eyes?
Especially as a contact lens wearer, you should give your eyes a break from time to time, as the surface of the eye is not supplied as well while wearing contact lenses. It is therefore particularly important to remove the contact lenses in good time in the evening and not to go straight to bed afterwards so that oxygen can reach the surface of the eye. If possible, you should alternate wearing contact lenses with wearing glasses from time to time. Of course, contact lenses should be fitted properly and cleaned thoroughly after each wear. Don't forget to make regular check-ups with your ophthalmologist or optician. Ventilate living and office spaces regularly, but at the same time protect your eyes from drafts and avoid cigarette smoke. Wearing sunglasses offers protection against too much light. Regular cleaning and care of the lid edge is also helpful if the sebaceous glands on the edge of the lid tend to become encrusted. Special cleaning cloths and gels, such as ILAST® HYDRACLEAN, but also creams.
