Like green and black tea, Pu-Erh tea is made from the tea plant (Camellia sinensis). It comes from the Pu Erh prefecture in the Yunnan province of what is now the People's Republic of China. It has been produced there for around 1,700 years.

Pu-Erh tea undergoes a special maturation process, which gives it its dark reddish color and strong, earthy flavor. Unlike most green and black teas, Pu-Erh tea improves in quality and flavor through aging. Like almost all teas, high-quality Pu-Erh can be brewed several times. The Chinese consider Pu-Erh tea to be a remedy for a wide variety of ailments. According to Chinese tradition, Pu-Erh tea is said to stimulate the metabolism, detoxify the body, and make you slim, among other things.

Preparation recommendation:
1 filter bag for 1-2 cups can be brewed up to four times with water that is no longer boiling. Infusion time: 2-3 minutes.

Recommended consumption:
3 - 5 cups a day.
