Xylometazoline, Xylometazolin Fortis 1 mg/ml aerosol 10 ml

Characteristics

Xylometazolin Fortis is a locally acting drug which, by constricting blood vessels, reduces congestion and swelling of the nasal mucosa and the amount of secretions. For patients with a stuffy nose, it makes it easier to breathe through the nose.
The effect of Xylometazolin Fortis begins within 2 minutes and lasts up to 12 hours.

Indications for use  xylometazoline, Xylometazolin Fortis 1 mg aerosol 10 ml

Excessive nasal congestion occurring in the course of colds, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis. The drug facilitates the outflow of secretions from inflamed paranasal sinuses. By reducing congestion of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, it can be used as an aid in otitis media. Xylometazolin Fortis facilitates nasal examination (examination of the nasal cavity).

Children

Xylometazolin Fortis should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

How to use Xylometazolin Fortis?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Xylometazolin Fortis should only be used in the nose (also in otitis media). In order to avoid the spread of infection, one package of the drug should be used by only one patient.

Recommended dose xylometazoline, Xylometazolin Fortis 1 mg aerosol 10 ml:

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age
: 1 spray in each nostril, 3 times a day. There should be an 8-10 hour break between subsequent administrations. Do not administer more than 3 doses into each nostril per day. Xylometazolin Fortis should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Method of use xylometazoline, Xylometazolin Fortis 1 mg aerosol 10 ml

The medicine is intended for nasal use. Be careful not to spray the spray into your eyes or mouth.
1. Do not cut off the tip of the applicator.
2. Remove the protective cap.
3. Before first use, press the pump 5 times. The pump will be ready for continued use for the entire recommended use period (do not use for more than 7 consecutive days). If the aerosol is not sprayed after fully pressing the pump, or if the medicine has not been used for longer than 14 days, re-prime the pump by pressing it once.
4. Clean your nose.
5. Hold the bottle vertically with your thumb holding the bottom of the bottle and the tip between two fingers.
6. Tilt your head forward and place the tip into your nostril.
7. Press the pump and inhale at the same time to ensure optimal distribution of the aerosol.
8. Repeat the steps while administering the medicine into the other nostril.
9. After use, replace the protective cap.
The nasal spray enables precise dosing and ensures proper distribution of the solution over the entire surface of the nasal mucosa. This excludes the possibility of accidental overdose.
