1. What is Weleda Calendula Essence and what is it used for?
Calendula essence is an anthroposophic medicine for wounds and superficial inflammations.
Areas of application
According to anthroposophical knowledge of man and nature, the areas of application include the treatment of wounds and superficial inflammations, also in the case of delayed wound healing and a tendency to suppuration; Rinsing of wound cavities and inflamed mucous membranes.
2. What do you have to consider before using Weleda Calendula Essence?
Weleda Calendula Essence must not be used
if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to calendula (marigold) or other composite plants.
Precautions for use
A doctor should be consulted if a fever develops or symptoms persist.
Pregnancy and lactation
Like all medicines, Weleda Calendula Essence should only be used during pregnancy and lactation after consulting a doctor.
Interactions with other medicinal products
None known.
Driving and using machines
No special precautions are necessary.
Important information about certain components of Weleda Calendula Essence
This medicinal product contains 50% alcohol by volume.
3. How should Weleda Calendula Essence be used?
Always use Weleda Calendula Essence exactly as directed in this leaflet.
Diluted Weleda Calendula Essence is used in wound dressings and rinses.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
For wound dressings and rinses, add 1 - 2 teaspoons of Weleda calendula essence to 1/4 l of boiled water.
For mouthwash, add 1/2 teaspoon to 1/2 glass of warm water.
To ensure even distribution when dispensing, the bottle should be shaken before use.
Duration of use CALENDULA ESSENCE 20%, Calendula officinalis
The treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 1 week. If there is no improvement within 2 days, a doctor should be consulted. The duration of treatment of chronic diseases requires consultation with the doctor.
If you forget to use Weleda Calendula Essence:
Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten the previous application.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure about the use of this medicine.
4. What side effects are possible?
Like all medicines, Weleda Calendula Essence can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.
Hypersensitivity reactions can occur very rarely.
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.
5.What else is important?
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label and carton.
Composition
10 g (= 10.7 ml) contain: Active substance: Calendula officinalis 2a Ø4 g.
Excipients: ethanol 94% (w/w), purified water.
