Accu-Chek FastClix AST lancing device cap 1 pc.

The Accu-Chek FastClix AST is a cap designed for use with the Accu-Chek FastClix AST Kit lancing device.

An Accu-Chek lancing device equipped with a cap allows for punctures at sites other than the fingertip. This is known as the AST method, which allows for obtaining a blood sample for self-testing blood glucose levels. Applying the cap is quick and easy. The Accu-Chek FastClix AST is suitable for patients who have difficulty puncturing the fingertip—a common problem among people who frequently need to test throughout the day. Alternative puncture sites include the hand, forearm, upper arm, thigh, or calf.

Technical specifications of the Accu-Chek FastClix AST cap:
The cap uses the AST method – it allows for punctures in alternative locations, such as the hand, forearm, upper arm, thigh, or calf.
The cap is compatible with the Accu-Chek FastClix AST Kit

lancing device

. Function : Used for drawing blood from alternative body parts.

How to use:

Remove the black cap from the lancing device.
Put on the gray AST cap. The recess on the edge of the cap and the puncture depth indicator (silver stripe) must engage. The cap must visibly and tangibly "click" into place.
Rotate the AST cap until the indicator sets the desired puncture depth.
To obtain a sufficiently large drop of blood, the puncture in alternative body parts must be deeper than on the fingertip. Generally, AST areas are less sensitive to pain.
Choose a soft area and wash it with warm, soapy water. Allow the skin to dry thoroughly.
The lancing device should only be used with the AST cap in place. Without the cap, the lancet penetrates too deeply, causing a painful prick.
Press the lancing device firmly against the selected puncture site.
Press the trigger button all the way in. This activates the lancet and punctures the skin.
Remove the lancing device from the puncture site.
Then, remove the
AST cap from the lancing device. Press the AST cap onto the puncture site. The hole in the AST cap should be placed on the skin in the same place as during puncture. This is the only way to obtain the appropriate blood drop size and prevent the AST cap from coming into contact with the blood.
Test your blood glucose according to your meter's instructions. Reattach one of the two caps to the lancing device.
