Ambroxol AL 30 For acute & chronic respiratory diseases with sputum • Expectorant effect • Facilitates coughing up and the removal of mucus / secretion from the bronchi • Supports the self-cleaning of the bronchi
Supports the self-cleaning powers of the airways
Pathogens, usually viruses, enter the body through the mucous membranes of the nose and mouth. One speaks of bronchitis when the mucous membranes of the bronchi (lower respiratory tract) are affected. Coughing is a symptom of acute or chronic respiratory diseases and is a natural and important defense reaction of the body. Coughing transports foreign bodies, pathogens and secretions outwards. The cough has a cleansing effect on the airways. Initially, bronchitis manifests itself as a dry, irritating cough. In the further course the mucous membranes of the bronchi produce more secretions. However, coughing is also painful and uncomfortable. First and foremost, it is important to support the mucus loosening.
For free breathing
Ambroxol has been an active ingredient that has been tried and tested for decades in acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs with thick mucus. The active ingredient has an expectorant effect and makes it easier to expectorate. Ambroxol also has anti-inflammatory properties. Ambroxol can reduce the viscosity of the tough mucus, making it harder for the mucus to adhere to the bronchial walls. By activating the ciliated epithelium of the airways, the removal of the secretion is promoted. Coughing up is made easier and this has a positive effect on the course of the disease.

AMBROXOL AL 30 tablets are best swallowed whole with sufficient liquid after meals. The tablet can be divided into equal doses due to the score line on one side.
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the following dosages apply:
- Children from 6 to 12 years: usually ½ tablet 2 to 3 times a day (corresponds to 30 - 45 mg ambroxol hydrochloride / day)
In children, the immune system is not yet fully developed. The body's own defense has to develop over the years before there is an effective protective mechanism against pathogens. At the latest when the children start school or kindergarten, respiratory infections are no longer uncommon. AMBROXOL AL 30 can be used in children from 6 years of age.
Avoiding infection Especially in autumn and winter, many people suffer from colds, headaches and sore throats. Later the cough comes in, which can last for weeks. As a rule, cold viruses are responsible for a disease of the respiratory tract with thick mucus. General hygiene measures such as frequent hand washing can reduce the risk of infection.
Frequently asked questions and answers
How does the cough differ from acute to chronic bronchitis?
Acute bronchitis is an acute inflammation of the mucous membranes in the bronchi. The cause are mostly viruses; the cough is dry at first, but becomes mucous after a few days; after 1-2 weeks at the latest, the infection in the bronchi should have subsided.
With chronic bronchitis, the bronchi are permanently inflamed; Viruses are rarely the cause, but toxins from the environment (cigarette smoke or industrial dust); constant, persistent cough that lasts for eight weeks; There are fewer symptoms of colds; possibly restricted breathing and / or expectoration of thick mucus.
What happens if a larger amount of AMBROXOL AL 30 is taken?
So far, no serious symptoms of intoxication have been observed in the event of an overdose. Brief restlessness and diarrhea are possible. In the event of an extreme overdose, increased saliva secretion, gagging, vomiting and a drop in blood pressure can occur. In the event of an overdose, a doctor should be contacted.
What should you watch out for when you are pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, AMBROXOL AL should only be taken on the order of a doctor and only if the doctor has carefully weighed the benefits and risks.
Can children also take AMBROXOL AL 30?

Can I also take AMBROXOL AL 30 as a cough suppressant?

Note:
The effectiveness can be increased by increasing the adult dose to 60 mg ambroxol hydrochloride twice a day (corresponds to 120 mg ambroxol hydrochloride / day).
If the clinical picture worsens or there is no improvement after 4-5 days, a doctor should be consulted. When the cough becomes torture
Coughing can be painful, uncomfortable, and annoying. Coughing is an act of strength in our body. The muscles work at full speed, which is exhausting for the body. Not infrequently, constant coughing leads to sore muscles in the abdomen and back and a feeling of sore chest. If the excruciating cough changes into a productive cough after a few days, AMBROXOL AL can have a positive effect on the course of the disease due to its expectorant effect.
