How does the active ingredient in the medication work?
The active ingredient helps with allergies and relieves itching. It suppresses the effects of the body's own substances histamine and prostaglandins in two ways: First, it inhibits the release of these substances from mast cells (specialized immune cells) in the blood and tissues; second, it displaces the substances from their binding sites. Histamine and prostaglandins, as tissue hormones and messenger substances, play an important role in the development of inflammation and allergic reactions.
