- Apteo Med Furagina Forte 0.1g is a medicinal product indicated for the treatment of lower urinary tract infections. The active substance used in the drug is furagine (also called furazidine), a derivative of nitrofuran.
Composition Apteo Med Furagina Forte 0.1g:
Active substance: furagin (furazidine). One tablet contains 100mg of furagina and auxiliary substances: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose with a composition of: microcrystalline cellulose - 98% and anhydrous colloidal silica - 2%, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A).

Included in the Apteo Med Furagina Forte 0.1g product furazidine is a derivative of nitrofuran. The mechanism of its action consists in inhibiting the growth of bacteria that are responsible for lower urinary tract infections.

Additional information:
Keep the product out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Avoid alcohol while using the drug. The drug contains lactose (123mg lactose monohydrate in one tablet) - people with intolerance to some sugars should discuss with the doctor the possibility of using the drug.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use in the first trimester of pregnancy. Do not use during full-term pregnancy (from week 38) and also during delivery - there is a risk of newborn hemolytic anemia. Do not use below 15 years of age. Do not use in the case of peripheral polyneuropathy (eg diabetic). Do not use in the case of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase enzyme deficiency - there is a risk of haemolysis. Do not use in the case of confirmed renal failure (creatinine clearance below 60ml / min or elevated serum creatinine). It is not recommended for use during lactation.
Side effects:
The medicine may cause side effects in some people. In clinical trials, the most common symptoms were headache, nausea, and excessive gas donation. If you experience the following side effects, stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor: allergic reaction (rash, pruritus, urticaria, anaphylactic reaction, angioneurotic edema, severe skin reactions (exfoliative dermatitis, erythema multiforme, Sevens-Johnson syndrome; acute, subacute and chronic hypersensitivity reactions to nitrofuran derivatives, pseudomembranous intestinal inflammation, tingling, numbness, feeling of currents following peripheral neuropathy, also in acute or irreversible course, liver dysfunction, symptoms of drug-induced hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice, hepatic parenchymal necrosis.
Dosage of Apteo Med Furagina Forte 0.1g tablets:
Use as directed by your doctor or the instructions on the leaflet. Take orally. The tablet can be divided into equal parts. It is recommended to use the drug during a meal, which contains protein, drink the tablet with a lot of liquid. The drug is recommended to use according to the scheme: the first day - 400mg per day in four divided doses (take one tablet every 6 hours), subsequent days - 300mg per day in three divided doses (take one tablet every 8 hours). Usually, the preparation is used for 7-8 days, in the case when the symptoms do not disappear or become worse after this time, consult a physician.
