Arginine-diet Biofrid is a food for special medical purposes (balanced diet) for the dietary management of arteriosclerosis and elevated homocysteine levels. Folic acid, vitamin B12, and vitamin B6 contribute to normal homocysteine metabolism. With the help of folic acid and vitamin B12, homocysteine is broken down either to methionine or, with the involvement of vitamin B6, to the amino acid cysteine. Arginine-diet Biofrid is intended for adults and must be used as a supplementary balanced diet under medical supervision. Arginine-diet Biofrid should not be taken by individuals with severe cardiovascular disease. Since there is no experience with its use in pregnant or breastfeeding women and children, consumption by these groups is not recommended.
